A week ago or so, I stumbled upon this post
written by the Mummy Whisperer and here is the comment I made:
That’s a very interesting and yet very tricky question…
I have to say that when I read the title of your post I wasn’t expecting the content to be mainly on co/Independence, because to me this is not so related. But that’s a good point you raised.
To me you… Continue

To hit the terrible twos: to hit head against wall because toddler decide to not cooperate in crucial moments such as when crossing the road. To scream at the top of one's head because one's child decide to play hide and seek in clothes rails in shops and won't listen when being called once, twice, twenty times. To loose one's marbles when toddler laughs at one's face when being told off.

I hesitated long and hard before writing this post but today, I was in the sort of mood when you over analyse things of the past.. you know for example why did that girl hit you in the playground 10 years ago...? ok 20 years ago, FINE 25 years ago at least! Or what about that boy who was a real jerk and broke your heart. That sort of memories that make you think, why? what did I do to deserve this? It rarely happens, I am more the sort of person who gets up, brush up my hands and moves on, but… Continue

This was written for VA's but useful for all business websites:
This evening I was delivered a news item through the Virtual Assistant group on Linked In. The post talked about 5 Items You Must Include on Your Virtual Assistant Website .
I was intrigued because I have to say 85% of the virtual assistant websites I land on result in an immediate ‘No’.

In the past couple of months, I've discovered quite a few things about myself, surprisingly, many of these things I already knew, but they have just resurfaced after what seems like forever.
Funny thing is, I was watching an episode of What Not to Wear on TV, not sure if it was new or old, but it dealt with a gorgeous girl from Jersey, a new mom of a 4 month old, who has lost… Continue

My 2 year-old is a little like Jekyll and Hyde. One moment he’s a really nice guy to have around. He’s funny and has wonderful manners…(says “please”, “thank you”, “your welcome” and a proper “yes” (not yep) without me having to ask him to). Then in a flash, his personality can just change…into a whiny little terror. He screams at decibels higher than I ever thought the human voice could reach. We all cringe. Our moods change. Before you know it, one child is rolling his eyes in annoyance with… Continue

My first cookbook Make-Ahead Meals for Busy Moms
will be published this summer! I started writing it on Jan. 1, 2008. I submitted my manuscript to a Self-Publishing Company on April 5, 2009. The publishing process has been slow, with many rounds of editing. I'm hoping it will be published late July/early August. The pictures on the slide show (below) are on the cover of the book and were taken by my brother Roger. For more info on the cookbook, visit my website… Continue

So today was the big day. When we woke up, I traipsed into the kitchen to look at the clock, and it was 8:58 a.m. Landon is in preschool from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Holy lateness!! Since we got back from Germany, L has been up at 7 a.m. every day, so I didn’t think we needed an alarm clock! So I panicked for a second and then just pulled myself together. Yes, it was his first day, but I wasn’t going to ruin it by rushing him. So I got him dressed and I gave him his Schultüte, a paper cone… Continue

There's nothing awfully new to the plot but as cliche as it is, it works....AGAIN
Mike O'Donell is a strapping young man who was at the top of his game...his life, at 17, playing basketball. He had the future rolling out nicely ahead of him. And then his girlfriend tells him that she's pregnant in the middle of an important game and being a responsible person, he ditches the game and marries her.
Well, not on the same… Continue

Tonight we went to see the new movie Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs in 3-D
. I have to say, I give it a big "Way to Go!"
I have a 2 year old, so sometimes it is hard to hold his attention at the movies. Well, this was not the case today! I even got to hear my little guy laugh out loud as Scrat the Squirrel continues his love affair with his beloved acorn. (and possibly a foxy looking little thing that also loves acorns...)
It has romance, humor, action,… Continue

Yep, it's out of the bag...I did something today which is absolutely unheard of.
I spent 5 1/2 (cause that 1/2 counts) hours WITHOUT SMALL CHILDREN.
Hellooooooo....Tap Tap...can ya hear me??
Three of those hours were spent ALONE. Well, except for Bo the Bulldog. And he doesn't yell at me to locate Gogurts or to find a Hannah Montana show On Demand. Or to be taken to Stick and Puck. Or follow me to the… Continue

Much has been said about the over-zealousness of the sport parent. We parents on the sidelines know who they are....we may even BE one--- the screamer or the ref-abuser or the self-appointed-folding-chair-coach. Sometimes it's hard to know if we've stepped over the line. Here's a suggestion for the sports parent who thinks she might be over-the-top!! http://tinyurl.com/SoccerMomPlay. Click over and leave a comment. I'd love to hear about your sports… Continue
