I’m a huge fan of the IPhone. I’ve unofficially, officially declared it the phone of the ifevolution.com blog. The phone has about 15,000 downloadable applications to date.
There’s a new one though, that I thought would be worth downloading just because it’s so relevant to the safety of children.
The Offender Locator.
According to the Washington Post:
The app allows you to see a list of offenders based on your current location (using the iPhone’s… Continue

I dropped both boys off at camp Sunday afternoon and an hour hasn’t gone by without me wondering how they’re doing. The last time my 13-year old went to camp, it was a disaster. We sent him to [...]

I've been on the lookout for muffin tins that are an appropriate size for Munch. I was glad to find this one because it's so happy looking.
Lunch was orzo with shrimp and feta, some carrot sticks, a few slices of turkey, the blackberries we picked … Continue

Jessica is critical of her mom for buying her way into a greener lifestyle. But I think any attempt to ditch conspicuous consumerism is better for our kids' future, whether a person arrives there from wealth or not. And who bankrolled Jessica's education to allow her to choose her profession? And why did she feel unloved?

To me at least!
If you love stuffed baked potatos with bacon and cheese on it, you’ll love this one. This salad is great chilled for a barbeque or while still warm as a side dish.
Not the healthiest thing in the world, especially since I use more of the artery clogging ingredients, but it really is awesome!
Here's the… Continue

It is the first full week of the school holidays and i had the girls to myself today. Hubby sleeps most of the day because he works overnight Sunday night so it is up to me to entertain the brood!
Pudding and 21month old are teething at the mo, pudding is getting her top two teeth and 21month old is getting her last set of molars which is making them both very grizzly and grumpy.
I decided that i needed a few things from the shops so i packed them all in the car and set… Continue

We're fortunate to have my aunt's pool fairly close by. Munch loves it, of course, and is pretty comfortable in the water.
She's got the basics of swimming, without formal lessons (maybe next summer), but tends to bob up before she reaches her destination. For the heck of it, I decided to toss in some sinking submarines. She had a great time diving for them, and was so much more… Continue

I am so proud to work from home for a company that provides us with a benefit that is endorsed by the FBI and that is designed to protect our children. Did you know a child is reported missing every 40 seconds in the United States? Did you know that only 10% of families have samples of their kid's fingerprints & DNA?
Our company has a new program available to its Independent Business Owners that will help… Continue

It's P day, and we had a jam-packed day! We started off with our usual routine of wood pieces and writing practice
then we moved on to her alphabet sticker book, a gift from Grandma. I like it because she can match up stickers that begin with that letter- it gives her ideas for things to put on her letter collage. Today, we glued puzzle pieces onto the collage after… Continue

Never leave your cup of coffee unattended with a dog (especially when it's a 7lb puppy). Caffeine does not fare well with them.
You WILL run into an ex boyfriend, eventually. Just hope that it's not while you're at the supermarket. Also hope you're not wearing a baseball hat with your grey roots STILL showing, or in your "I just got my period and feel like a complete mess" clothing.
Make sure to hit "save" now and then if you are working on a project on your laptop. Especially when… Continue

Many of the movies that we see today are based on some excellent books. Sometimes a movie is not able to capture the true story as hard as they try. If you're really interested in learning more about the movies you watch then here's a quick list of movies based on books. Many people especially Harry Potter and Twilight fans read the books prior to watching the movies.
1. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince / J. K. Rowling
2. Coraline / Neil Gaiman
3. Twilight Saga /… Continue

I would not be so quick to frequent a blog that only talked about how perfect the kids were, how well mom cooked from scratch, how clean and beautiful the house is, how unfrazzled she is at the end of the day…Sure, I like those stories, but if I have a bad day, or am making dinner from a box or cleaning the crayon from my entire floor, or changing the 3rd blowout of the day, or ready to pull my hair out for a variety of reasons, those posts just will NOT make me feel better. I need the kids in… Continue

I receieved my warning tonight and I thought I would pass it on to you.
August 2nd, 9pm is the kick-off to Shark Week.
There……you have it. I know I’m not alone in this Shark Week thing. I can’t possibly be, because the ratings are so high for the series.
Here is what the warning means in my household:
■There are no plans to be made that will have us home later than 8:30.
■There will be no sharing of the 60″ in the family room.
■There is no… Continue
