Don't Ask Monday #1 - It's All in the Shoes

If you happen to be in the parking lot of the local market loading the car with your goods and your daughter starts cracking up and pointing at your

feet...

you may or may not want to know why. Don't ask how I managed to walk out of the house and…

27 Dresses

Once upon a time, a little girl dreamed of owning 27 dresses. Yep, that would be my five-year-old daughter, Bunny. She is the world’s girliest girl, or at least the girliest girl in my world.… Continue

@$#*%! Friday! New Spice & Big Ass Tables!

So I said to myself, “Self…you have been sorely neglecting your duties as Mayor of late…”. Myself responded with a rude gesture & a string of expletives that made even me blush. Then I was clocked over the head with a calendar. A sad reminder that September is looming, & with it, the two things I struggle with the most…the loss of my babies back to the school system, & the impending arrival of…

L.A. Area Mom Bloggers Needed for Habitat for Humanity

If you live within driving distance of Los Angeles then I am looking for you. I have teamed up with the P.R. agency for Habitat for Humanity L.A. to coordinate a "Mom Blogger Build." You would just need to show up for a day or two (probably on a weekend) to help work on a house for a family that really needs it. We also ask that you blog before, during and after the build just to document your thoughts, why it's important, how it touched you, etc.

Also we ask that you help fund raise… Continue

The Blueprint

Exactly as I planned it will happen. Following My blueprints, it

will take shape,
Isaiah 14:24
...for He decides destiny and

controls fate. Whether there is a feast or famine. It is He who

examines...each phase of the plan. The motives of each woman or man.

Will we do His will or pursue our own plan...void of the Masters

commands. For committed and persistent work, will pay off;

get-rich-quick schemes… Continue

Traveling to Germany with a Little Boy (and Breastfeeding in Public)

The second day of our visit to my girlfriend’s farm we spent at the local pool. For such a small town in the country, they have a very sophisticated pool with tons of water features, and the boys were in and out of the water for four hours. Since I didn’t have a bathing suite and had just burned my skin to a crisp on Nantucket, I was in no mood to swim, so Karen “swam” with the boys and I took… Continue

Marriage and Money - a deadly or blessed combination?

Did you know that the #1 cause of divorce is money? You've probably heard that statistic before but have you really spent time thinking about it? Maybe you have, you are married, and you fight over money most of the time. Bills owed can be a stressful thing. Then again maybe you haven't spent much time dwelling on it, you push it aside and don't deal… Continue

It's good to be the King!

Or Queen. Although even in my fantasies, I only ever make it into the kingdom as far as a court jester. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, I make it in as a royal loaf of bread.

However, as I mentioned in my last post, I did get the "One Lovely Blog" award from the always ever so thoughtful Marieke from mformommy.blogspot.com. Go visit her and say hi! She's one blogger… Continue

I'm a mom!?

I still can't believe it....I'm a MOM!!!! lol I always thought that having a baby would be like having a puppy....HA It's more like having a whole farm! I no longer have time to indulge in myself.....

In my last post I ended with a backside picture of me taken in Aug.2007 just a few months shy of my 30th birthday. I was newly pregnant with my first child (like that ass looks like it's had any babies! lol), I had no idea what I was in for! I was in preggo bliss! I hadn't had my…

Getting Thru a Rough Month

On the upside I can appreciate that we just closed on a new house (my first home) which is beautiful and perfectly accommodating for our lifestyle. What I would have done differently was keep better track of our funds while purchasing items needed for our house. While moving it was difficult as we were without phone and internet service which I depend on for checking daily account balances. I have a tendency to blame some of it on my DH who tends to be quite the spend thrift but meant well.…

Which Comes First, Baby or Career?

I am an anomaly: I married right out of high school and started having children at a young age. While most of my classmates are only now starting their families ten year later, my third baby is starting kindergarten in the fall and baby four is almost ready for preschool. I am not, however, one of those barefoot and pregnant women. I am part of a new, yet growing, segment of the population that is having children first and then growing a career after their family is…
