The Made in America Movement

We've just decided to be a member of the Made in America Movement.  On their website, http://www.themadeinamericamovement.com, they have a list of companies that manufacture products in the USA.  As a small family business, we think this is a very important cause and are going to try and purchase products made in the USA whenever possible.  I know it isn't easy, sometimes just finding…

Look Out -- Dad's in Charge!!!

When I put my husband in charge of getting the kids somewhere, I can generally expect for at least a handful of important things to be completely forgotten.  Try as he might, he just doesn't run through any sort of mental checklist before he races out the door.  In fact, he's done this ever since the twins were little tiny babies, often leaving the house without so much as a…

Teaching Tuesday....Training

Last night I went to bed exhausted, not feeling well and with nothing on the slate to blog about today. God has always provided something for me to write, even when I feel as if I have nothing to say. For this I am very thankful, this tells me I am here for a purpose, beyond just loving to write. God has me here, writing for Him, to reach others with words that often are not mine, but His.

In my morning devotions, I am still following the Good Morning Girls Proverbs 31 study, and…

An Agonising Night And Morning

A body massage with my regular beautician left me almost sleepless last night.  She detected something not right on the part every women seems to fear.... she told me to see a doctor.... that left me thinking of the Capital C the whole evening through....

Early this morning I couldn't wait to go and check it out with a gynae... unfortunately my all-time gynae has retired, he is of a different race from me and and I feel more relaxed with him... (he was handsome...…

Collectibles: Picture Books and People

Children’s picture books are among some of the most prized collectibles.  Many don’t survive the wear and tear of childhood…others live on to be passed down from generation to generation.

For me, the value of the book is in the joy each story gives to the children who hear it.

Some collectibles are valued in the millions but the smile on a…

Are You Ready For The 2012 Summer Olympics?

I am so excited for the 2012 Olympics.  The qualifiers for gymnastics and swimming got me wanting more.  There are so many sports, always a few that I haven’t heard of or are amazed it is an Olympic sport.  Here’s a list of all the summer…

Neglected

I tend to start hobbies that get neglected when life gets in the way.  Some of the hobbies I picked up last year were very beneficial to my family and our bank account.  Last year I started to coupon.  This "hobby" saved my family huge amounts of money that I meant to keep up.  As most of my hobbies I keep putting it off and off again until I wasn't sure where to pick up again.

A Shirt

Every day kids learn something new.

With toddlers its a constant stream

of new words.

Car.

Dog.

Shoe.

Milk.

No.

Yea.

Um.

Yuck.

Hat.

Eat.

Shirt.

Shirt. Simple enough. For you and me.

I say to him, "lets get your shirt on."

He says, "a shit

on."

I say, "put a shirt on."

He says, "aw shit."

I say,

"Honey, a shirt. To cover your tummy and protect it from the…

Tatted Mom's Guide to Living on a Budget

I've never lived a lavish life. Even when I was at the height of tattooing, I could pull down maybe $1000 in one weekend, I'd always turn around and either stock the house with food, or buy the kids much needed clothes, or pay the bills for the entire month. I wouldn't say I'm bad with money, but I'd be lying if I said I had a savings account with even a dime in it.

So budgeting has always been a part of my life. Sometimes the budget has allowed for 'fun money', sometimes the kids…

"Five Easy Steps to Creating the Perfect Bath"

In a look in to the life of a woman's day to day activities juggling between the loads of work and family. A mother, co-worker and wife may find little to no time on her hands for TLC for herself. As a woman myself, I can relate and just about half my reader's can associate with this way of life. However, even in today's world you can always make some time, I usually wait till I have tucked my four year-old into her Dora bed…

Tubes & Teething: Someone up there has quite a sense of humor...

You will all be happy to here that I did not jump on the gurney when they wheeled my son off to surgery on Friday.  Actually, I barely had time to shed a tear, or read the first page of my People magazine before they were back with a crying, maniac in my arms.  The procedure went great, however, my little man is not a big fan of waking up from anesthesia with a bunch…

Trilingual Book: My Sister Is My Best Friend awarded Creative Child Magazine Award 2012

I am happy to announce that my book has won the prestigious Creative Child Magazine Award for 2012.  I am hoping winning this award will help me reach many more readers.  I am passionate about writing my books as trilingual because I understand the importance of language acquisition at an early age.

I have a second passion.  I give a portion of all proceeds from my book sales to Mercy & Sharing, an…
