Pre-Vacation Post

If you had no idea I was on vacation this week, then I did a good job at scheduling my blog posts, tweets and facebook updates. Truth be told, me, my adorable son and amazing husband spent a lovely week in San Diego living it up before our second edition to the family comes in November/December. We had a blast and I took over 800 pics. We got so much… Continue

BREACH OF COPYRIGHT - I. AM. FURIOUS

By now, a lot of you know that some of my blog posts (amongst several other bloggers) have been copied and used on someone else's blog. The posts have been very slightly tampered with but the majority of content has been published. People have been reading these "fake" posts and leaving genuine comments, assuming the offending blogger to be innocent. I was alerted to this action last night by two of my readers who have also been targeted, Yellow…

Online Reputation: Tools and tips to manage effectively

Recently, a friend told me about a negative incident she had while dining at a large restaurant chain. Her waitress was very rude and inattentive. By the time her meal arrived, her colleague had finished eating. The last straw was realizing her steak was prepared wrong. Angrily, she took out her I Phone and sent out a tweet to her followers about her…

The Circle of Life

Listening to Blade (6) and Z (3) is like listening to a couple of stoners sitting around talking about life. The revelations that they make are very similar to the ones that I have heard in my past. This is the conversation that I heard this evening just before bed.

My Push Present

Today I received my push present from my husband. A push present (also known as a "push gift" or "baby bauble") is a present a new parent gives a new mother when she gives birth to their child.

SPEECH AND LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT

I’m new to blogging, in fact this is my first day dipping into this form of communication. I am a mom with grown children but I work with little ones every day as a Speech-Language Therapist. In fact, I have worked in this field for over 30 years! (Maybe you can guess why my profile picture is of trees.)

With the current shortage of speech therapists, I realize parents and caregivers might be the only speech/language “teachers” the children in their care ever encounter, but what…

According to Wikipedia, the number and quality of friendships for the average American has been declining since around 1985, and a 2006 study…
