Once we became parents, my husband and I noticed that our relationship to pools had changed. This summer, we’ve had a total of three hours of poolside relaxation on a weekend getaway (not without its own hiccups, of course. See “Livin’ the Dream.”)…Continue

Hello MBC'ers! My daughter, Dylan, suffered a severe asthma attack and seizures this Mother's Day (May 13th). She was without oxygen for quite some time and now is battling brain damage. The focus of my blog is now on the next leg of our journey....
These last few weeks have been rough. Other words that come to mind to describe it are shitty, unbearable, exhausting and nerve-racking. Dylan has been dealing with seizures and brainstorming (which means she had…Continue

To make the trip more fun, Kiley invited her friend Greydi and I planned out a scavenger hunt. The girls had a list of things to find and then get a picture of it. They did very good and pretty much found it all!

They each get a small allowance for doing so. I had to stop myself this morning from bringing my son's clothes downstairs for him to change before school and instead went downstairs and told him to…Continue
