I never liked meatloaf. It's one of those foods that reminds me of a snowflake-no two are alike. Some have cheese, some load with veggies. Everyone has their own way of making it and I had never found one that peaks my interest-until now.

I'm a modifier. I like to read all the recipes and watch all the shows and I piece together bits and pieces until I find what suits me best. I tend to like the sweet stuff. Ha. Tend to. Okay, everything I eat is sweet. I add honey to my mashed… Continue

Mommy Profiling in Paris, France

I read an article about how people who get the cold shoulder perceive the temperature in the room they are in to be chilly (3 degrees less than the actual temperature). Coincidentally, it was tres, tres cold today when I did the school run with Big Fry. Pourquoi?

La Mom was on the receiving end of a very direct stare down from one of the French moms in front of the school gates. I couldn't understand why. I mean, I was dressed in my designer jeans, Paul & Joe top, Tod's mules,… Continue

Emotions of a Traveling Mom on Day 5

I'm sitting in a hotel room in Vegas and will soon be headed to the airport for my return flight. This morning is day 5 away from home. Five days! I was OK until day 3, but at this point I've lost whatever work-related focus I had. My sole focus is getting home and seeing my husband and kids.

At this point I'm cursing the impulse that had me suggest this conference to my boss. I've narrowed down my feelings to three emotions ... anxiety, frustration and guilt.

Monday With the Fussies

Sunday was kind of an interesting day around here.

Daniel woke up at 4:30 am. I decided to scoop him up and put him in bed with us. He was very interested in grabbing the hubby’s nose. We were in stitches. He wasn’t really interested in going to sleep, so I went down on the couch with him, pulled out the laptop and watched an episode of Burn.Notice with the boy on my chest. He fell asleep finally and I put him back in bed. Around 7 am they were both up. I woke up the hubby to help… Continue

Pee Fairy Delivers: Sleep Mode Distracted

It is okay; I know that their are hundreds of women just like me out there and are probably searching for 'funny insomnia posts' online as we speak.

It is so unfair; when we are younger, we have little children… Continue

Well, the hubby attempted to have a serious conversation last night about what has been bothering him. It would have helped if he tried to do it without having to have a few brews first (beer ba.lls!). I was very open and receptive to the conversation until he brought up the point that he only gets 4 hours sleep in 3 days. That is so much bull, I am looking for my shovel. His excuse of the monitor not being charged was blown out of the water with the fully charged monitor on my side of the bed.… Continue

The Baby Pooped on My Party Clothes!

Oh...It seems like yesterday.

We had just spent the summer with my parents. I couldn't wait to be back home with my husband whom I missed terribly. My girls, likewise missed their daddy and were anxious to be home with him.

We boarded the plane looking fresh and crisp in our nice white summer clothes. The girls were wearing matching white shirts with sweet little green frogs that I had just happened to find in all three sizes. I was wearing crisp white linen shirt and… Continue

Alright! Everyone is back at school/work and I'm no different. I manged to get my blog entry up on time and even managed to sew some "sock dread locks".

08. Erika G. Arranged our first lease with our old apartment building. The only truly helpful person in that blasted office. Too bad service like that isn't mandatory here. Or anywhere, really.
