Is Gambling a Man's Thing? We Dare to Disagree

To be a professional gambler, you need to be a man - at least this is what many media outlets and society as a whole are trying to tell us. Of course, men are seen as being risk-takers but this doesn't necessarily translate into them being the only gender to enjoy playing casino games. Stats show that as many women enjoy a few spins on a Royal Vegas slot machine than…

Pregnancy Workouts: How You Can Be BUILT WITH CHOCOLATE MILK, too!

I’m not sure if I’ve made this abundantly clear or not, but I have a serious – and we’re talkingserious – obsession with all things chocolate. So when I heard that drinking lowfat chocolate milk is actually a way that athletes are refueling and rebuilding their bodies after strenuous workouts, you have to know that I was excited.

The first time I heard about this was during one of my early…

I don't want to be a sexy pirate

Halloween is my favorite holiday. It takes place in my favorite season, I love seeing all the children dressed up in costumes, the candy is plentiful and everyone is happy. My wonderful husband takes our son trick-or-treating and I dress up and hand out candy at the door. But here's the thing:

I don't want…

Bedtime Routine

Bedtime routines are important and also special.  I know as a parent there are some nights that are not as easy as other nights.  I try and remind myself before I know it they won’t want me to tuck them in bed and read them that same story book we have read 10,000 times.  There are those nights when I am tired and don’t want to do anything, I would like just to sit and relax.  As I watch my boys, I'm reminded they are growing so fast and won't always need me to pick out their pajamas and…

60 Pounds Down My Weight loss Journey

I have been on a Huge Journey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since I started this blog 2 years ago I have lost over 60 pounds.  This was left over baby weight. I gained 96 pounds while pregnant with Mason. I lost the first 30 (the amount I should have gained) in the first 3 weeks.  If I had not been gorging on food my entire pregnancy I would have been back to my Pre  baby weight within…

Ricky’s Birthday: Cowboys, Ponies and Trampolines Galore

So I went a little all out for Ricky’s birthday this year. Given how difficult the spring and summer were – and the fact that we barely had any barbeques this year – I just wanted to have a fun little celebration for my little guy turning two.

So…I may have ordered some ponies. But just for the day! Not to keep. Much as my husband would like to have a pony in the backyard.

And yes, that’s true. A hobby farm is definitely on his bucket list. But that’s a story for another…

Hair Video: The Quick Mom Up-do For Everyday Life

So, I have this thing during the week. I rarely wear my hair down, because it bothers me when it gets in my face while I’m working. I also have issues with actually styling my hair during the week, because…well, I’m short on time.

To help fix that, I’ve come up with several quick hair dos that make my mornings easier. And also prevent me from looking like the mom who literally just rolled out of bed to take her kid to school.

And because I love ya, I’m sharing one with you…

Five Reasons Why Adolescence Should Be Renamed The Art of Compromise

I have a 12 year old. He is not quite a “teenager” but for all intents and purposes, he acts like one (which is not all bad by the way – I happen to very much enjoy teenagers). I am deeply aware that I am firmly entrenched in early adolescence with my boy. Yesterday morning, he was tired and did not want to go to church. I have felt that way many times myself, and so I decided to allow him to lay low at home while the rest of us went to church. I told him, however, that staying home from church… Continue

Kitchen Skin Care Remedies

We all love glowing healthy skin. We do all sorts of things to maintain the youthful glow. Pay LOTS of $$$ for all the "new" products that we thrown at us in all our magazines and on TV. I could shell out a fortune trying them all out. Having worked retail in cosmetics........ Well let's just say old habits die hard.

This post however is not about all the latest and greatest. It is however about some tried and true…

Our First Fight

We were married in May of 2003.  We were both twenty one years in age, looking back now we were so very young, my thinking then why wasn’t I married sooner.  It is amazing how you age and grow and until then have no clue of what adult life is like even though you think you have it all figured out.…

Did you know..........,

If your story does not inspire you,it's time to change it.

That wealth is good when it brings joy to others?

That ,dreaming of being on the moon cannot get you there ,it requires focus and intelligent efforts to achieve what you dream?

And did you know..........

That rejection is one step to get you closer to the destination if you simply stay persistent?

That faith gives you the courage ,calmness and confidence to reveal the authentic you?

Bring out the… Continue
