I wanted to share some information I came across today regarding tainted Halloween candy. I've checked with Snopes and it proves true.
Chocolate Coins from the Sherwood brand company has made it's way to Costco's and "dollar stores" in Canada. This candy is tainted with Melamine, which is the chemical that has killed, and sickened, thousands of children in China.
I've provided just a bit more information on my blog entry Ann Again...and again.… Continue

It happened four years ago, two weeks before Halloween…
My daughter was 13 years old. My husband and my daughter are best friends. He drives her to school every morning, making lunch and giving her valuable advices about the boys. But one night …
My husband came home from work and told me that he needed to talk to me about something very important. He had this sad face and looked like he had to make very important decision in his life. I got a little worried and after the… Continue

The tooth fairy… ooops!
** I’ll start with a disclaimer that you shouldn’t read this one with your little ones around, especially if they can read. I reveal a deep dark secret about the tooth fairy. **
Morgan, my oldest, lost her 3rd tooth last week and can you even believe the tooth fairy screwed up? I mean I was as shocked as you are. It just doesn’t seem like someone like the tooth fairy would be less than perfect. Alas, she is.
With dreams of cash in her… Continue

Every woman's dream; a daughter with beautiful long hair. I was very excited when Angel Starr's hair was long enough for me to start "playing" hairdresser and give her some beautiful, creative (but practical) hairstyles. But .......... click here to continue

On Saturday my husband came downstairs and found Kramer, our dog. He had passed away during the night. Kramer had sort of been in Hospice in the kitchen. He had gotten to the point where he really couldn’t walk; in fact he couldn’t really stand much that last day. So I would carry him outside, which wasn’t an easy task being that he weighed over 55 lb. But, 3 or 4 times a day I would carry him outside.
We all tried to get him to eat and drink. I would feed him anything he would eat.… Continue

Recently, we have all heard or read about the RNC spending $150,000 on clothing etc. for the Palin family in six weeks. According to the RNC, the money was all donated so, why should the public care?
If the media were to remove the name of Sarah Palin, and the story were presented as "Jane Doe spent $150,000 of donated money for clothing etc." what would you think?
I would think $150,000 is a lot of money to spend on clothing etc. especially, in six weeks. I don't care if… Continue

I just wrote an article letting out my irritation and hurt feelings of when someone *tisk, tisk* you when you open up and share your pain. You put yourself in a venerable position and choose to share your life and hurt and all you get is, ‘well, my life is worse than yours so don’t talk’
That may not have been the commenter’s intention but that is how it came across to me. And it hurt. I think it is a really good article if I do say so myself ;) I would hope you all would take a… Continue

Today I had another visit with my beloved Dr. Vein. I went into the appointment with my head in the clouds - tired from another almost sleepless night (Merci Small Fry). Getting my legs poked and prodded with her magic needle pretty much brought me back to earth, and boy, was I sure glad I was back! Dr. Vein inspired me to take charge of my mommy life. In fact, I'm sure lots of mommies feel the same way. It doesn't matter whether you live in Paris, London, Milan, or Chicago - there comes a time… Continue

It may seem like most of my blogging has to do with dog doo. That's correct because, unfortunately, when you are mom in Paris dog doo is an ever present companion. Plus don't forget that I have two French Fries under the age of five so my world is filled with references to pee pee and caca everyday. That said, while I hate the dog doo part of Parisian life, there are several things that j'adore about being a mom in France. Et voila!:
Maternity Leave The legal limit today is… Continue

Sex And The City quote:
"Don't worry, sweetie, don't worry! Nobody in New York notices a bus until it's about to hit them! [Samantha]”
In NYC you may get hit by buses, but in Paris you and your kids get yelled on them!
Today, I took the kids to the Park Monceau on the bus. Big Fry loves it because he's big enough for his own seat at the window and I like it because I get to people watch. Today was also the day that Small Fry decided to melt down on La Mom while… Continue

Every mom I know has wondered if the grass is really greener on the other side.
Ever wonder what it would be like to wake up in the middle of the bed, at 10 am, after having 10 hours of sleep?
Ever wonder what it would be like to shop alone at Walmart or the grocery store, alone, and only buy the necessary sugar laden products (your chocolate fix) and Diet Coke.
Ever wonder what it would be like to just put your sweats on, fix a gourmet bowl of popcorn for dinner, and… Continue

At first glance, these two words don't fit together. They appear to be an oxymoron. How can cancer, something so horrible and devastating, be paired with such a lovely word as blessing? How can a word that brings on the feeling of mire and darkness sit next to a word of hope and light?
I would say that they do fit together. I know my sister Amy would.
Amy and I have been in almost daily contact since her diagnosis. Many of the days have… Continue

My 9 month adventure
It’s not what you think.
I hate to start towards the end, but that’s what I’m gonna do, ‘cause that’s where I am
I have this dog that I love dearly, he’s been around for 12 ½ years and we’ve been through so much together. My husband and I got him just a few months after we got married. We named him Kramer after the Seinfeld character. His hair was cut crooked on the top and he would slide around all the time. It was hysterical and he… Continue

September 2000 – I am pregnant! This is soooo great! It is my second child. We (my ex and I ) planned it and now we are going to have a baby! I am so excited!
I remember having lunch with one friend of mine who has three children. Over the meal she was telling me that after a second child her breasts grew from size B to size C. She also told me that a friend of hers had her breasts grow two sizes as well! Ooh-la-la! This is good news. I love it!
It’s not that I don’t like… Continue
