In Paris, almost everybody (especially if you are married with kids) gets invited to or throws dinner parties in their apartments on Saturday evenings. It’s customary to bring the hostess a gift (in addition to an excellent bottle of Saint Emilion or Champagne). Usually flowers or candles do the trick.
Last night, we attended a dinner party of American & English playgroup parents. The parents all had classic expat professions: lawyers, IT execs, diplomats. Then there was… Continue

French kids don't cut cheese (even though they eat a ton of the stuff!), American kids do.
At least, that's how the French moms acted over the weekend.
On Saturday, I took Small Fry to her music class. It's a fun class where the kids and moms get to sing nursery rhymes in French and English together. Most kids in my class are Anglophone, but there are about five French kids too. I’ve noticed that the French moms just sit there and don’t really look like they… Continue

I attended PLI's Intellectual Property Law Institute in San Francisco last week. Intellectual Property issues in Virtual Worlds was a hot topic. Stephen J. Davidson founder and principle of Davidson PLLC, gave a fascinating presentation on this subject. As a social media enthusist, I was particularly interested in the discussion on who owns the copyright in an Avatar created by the end user (customer) but the tools are provided by the service provider (Second Life, Disney's… Continue

Pink is the new black....well at least in the month of October. In stores, newspaper advertisements and magazine articles you will see this color permeating our consumer landscape. Will you cave to societal or peer pressure and jump on the new color trend? Will you outfit yourself or your home with this rosy hue? Are you willing to go pink and support breast cancer research?
If so, read on....
Now I don't advocate going out and spending money just for the sake of spending… Continue

Back when I first got pregnant with Jack I was told to find a support network. My family lives in Australia where I left them to come live here with my wonderful husband, so that was not an option for me as my support. I have wonderful inlaws that have been great but I found I needed more than that. I needed other moms, other moms that weren't sleeping at night, other moms that were lucky to feel the hot spray of a shower on their bodies, other moms that needed other moms to talk and digest… Continue

We do food, cookbook and product reviews on Cookerati frequently. When I asked what my sister who owns the blog does with her packing materials, she told me she gives them to her son to color. Okay well, my 16 year old son doesn't color unless he has to for school. I decided I had to figure something out. I have styrofoam coolers that come with food in them and I know they don't recycle everywhere. Plus, packing peanuts, what to do with them. I called my local UPS and asked if they take packing… Continue

I'm an avid blogger. I blog whatever is in my head at that moment. I love to "overthink" things and sometimes people get tired of listening so it's great for me to get my words written down to see what I really think :)
I love to meet new friends, chat, spend time with my kiddos and just enjoy life
Hope to make some new friends soon!

I was thrilled as I’ve been itching for some more elbow room!
