Getting the Family On Board with Chores

When it comes to cleaning and organizing your home, sometimes it is just easier to do things yourself.  Sometimes your kids just don’t know how to do it right.  But as you know by now, your kids are little sponges and soak up habits, good and bad, quickly.  Take time out to show your kids how to complete tasks… Continue

We had a very snowy Halloween

The kids just loved it and my son is now at the age where he zips through from house to house having a blast ! My little girl was so cute carrying her candy and marching through the neighborhood so independently ! Just loved sharing that with them today.

A day well spent at the Autism Summit

Today was a success! We had a plan this year. Last year we stuck around about an hour too long. This year, we brought separate cars and as soon as Ian & boys couldn’t take the noise anymore, they hit the door running. Meltdowns successfully averted… (patting myself on the back now as we speak)

If you have yet to go  to one of these events, you are missing out. Ok, perhaps it’s not the end of the world, but some of the information you get is priceless. Not to mention the…

Why do I have to take B-12 shots, Mom?

B12 has been amazing for both boys. Every day Zeke is communicating better, and now has wonderful intense eye contact. Admittedly I was like “WTF?!” He looked a little possessed to me, mostly because I was so used him looking at me out the corner of his eyes. Gabe has been focusing on his school work better and is seeking less.  Which is so very awesome because he is always in seeking mode. All very wonderful things for the boys. The first day, was a bit sad.

Gabe asked “Why do…

Do you see the Halloween Fairy? If not, you should

Do you see the Halloween Fairy? If not, you should. Thanks to my wonderfully clever husband, the Halloween fairy comes to our home The boys pick out 10 pieces of candy, then they leave it out on the table for her. She then slips into the house, takes their candy and leaves $5 in it’s place. She is much like the Tooth Fairy. But then again, we tend to explain and blame everything on the fairies. Poor fairies, they get a bad rap sometimes around here.

Shhhhhh.. don’t tell my kids…

FYI chocolate covered coffee beans = kids who wont go to sleep

Thanks friendly neighbor for giving my ADHD, ASD, OCD boys chocolate covered coffee beans… either they are for me, then AWESOME! I love you!  Or you can’t read Spanish, in which case you are an idiot for buying candy and you don’t know what it is. Or you’re  just an asshole and you thought it would be funny to give coffee beans to children. I am HOPING that these were intended for me and  that you’re not an idiotic asshole who buys things in gourmet aisle just to say you bought your neighbor…

My Life Would Suck Without You

(From http://blendedbeaks.blogspot.com)

Monday morning.  We made it through another weekend.  As I watch Dazey the He-She Cat eat the dog’s food and wonder who has been messing with my laptop settings as the colors are now all funky looking, I am mentally reviewing the weekend (who said I couldn’t multi-task) and two thoughts keep coming to mind:  Kelly Clarkson and the fact that Daddy Owl and I had an accidental date night…

Coupon Junkies

I’m Regina and I’m a coupon junkie.  Lately I’ve been scanning the deals and websites looking for the next deal. I fell so rich when I have my coupons as I can get so much with $20.
I went to Rite Aid and Walgreens this past weekend and spent $4.31 and got $42.95 worth of items.  I got $32 worth of make up for .46 before tax

Time to Refocus

Well hello MBC! It's been a while since I posted here. Being 2 and 3 years old now, my toddlers are at a stage where they've finally calmed a bit and I can get back to networking. Ok, they haven't calmed that much, but at least they're taking naps again. LOL So I get two hours per day to myself.

Join me in a YAY!!! won't you?

For some reason as my son neared 3 and his baby sister neared two, they became a bit more of a handful than usual. My daughter became to…

UnHappy Halloween!

I hate Halloween. It has not been a holiday that I enjoy as long as I can remember, for various reasons.  I try to get into it, but can’t.
My kids don’t eat a lot of candy.  We could just go to my mom and dad’s house and we’d be set for the amount of candy that they would eat (my parents fill their bucket).

Baby Gear Mom: Sink Snuggler

Many parents prefer bathing their infants in the sink, but what’s the usual issue – some pesky faucets don’t make it possible, right? Enter the Sink Snuggler Bath Bather. It’s made with a flexible foam material that you can adjust to contour to most sinks. The material also provides a nice cushion for baby’s… Continue

Halloween on a Saturday? Yes Please!

Hallow een is one of our favorite holidays; we go all out each year! Dressing up is serious business, even for the adults. Connecticut lawmaker Tim Larson has made an interesting proposition this year – designating Halloween as the last Saturday of October versus the 31st. As soon as I read about it, I was on the…

M.O.M

Hi! How do you do?

Pleased to meet you!

I'm just your common fade-in-the-wall mom

Trying to get out of my daily dump

Everyday Life is ever so exciting

Cooking, cleaning and screaming

Motherhood is such a roller coaster

It just goes on for ... Forever ...

My darling kids regularly drive me up a wall

Turning me into a crazy Neanderthal

Academic school pressure is a teensy, mere tip

The iceberg has to be the emotional angst… Continue

THEE Answer to all my child raising issues!

One of the best things I learned that helped me dramatically through the years of raising my beautiful daughters and now helping with my amazing grandchildren is reiki (ray-key). In 1985 a friend of mine talked me into taking a Reiki I class. She convinced me that it would help the learning disabled students I worked with - so I took the class which was held at her home in Boulder, Colorado.

Well I can tell you that was a…
