morning afternoon. And because I haven’t actually made it outside of the house or gotten a lot of work done today, I feel like a total slacker. But when I look at things in all reality, I’ve been an uber productive domestic diva. I’ve done two loads of laundry, picked up our entire house (minus my office, that’s a monster to tackle another day…), gotten an hour long barre workout in, showered, gone through half my emails, fully made the bed (for the second time…

What is it about women- Is it their clothing? Makeup? Personality?
Over the years, there have been many misconceptions about women- stereotypes, to be exact. You may be familiar with some- a woman’s place is in the home cooking, cleaning and taking care of the family, while the man is at work making the money.
While these stereotypes still play a prominent role in society, women are now more powerful than ever before.
Case-in-point, Sara Blakely- she founded Spanx, which…Continue

It is no surprise that women face a huge amount of stressors once they enter the workforce, but it increases even more once they take on the challenge of having a family. Balancing work and family life isn’t so simple.
It becomes an even bigger problem for women who are not working high-income positions and taking on these extra roles.
In past research, women who have worked managerial positions have stated that they felt “isolated at work, exhibited Type A behavior and…Continue

My twenty seven days vacation to California has finally come to an end. And here I am at the airport in San Francisco after checking in all my luggage. When I arrived in San Francisco, I had only one luggage to check in and one hand luggage with me. However after the vacation, I had two "overweight" luggage, one hand luggage weighing 7 kilograms and one tote bag! At the airport last minute, I had to take out some of my stuff to my sibling's luggage. Gosh!! I better control my shopping…Continue

“Mommy, can I say the ‘s’ word?”
I’m driving. Always when the questions come, I’m driving. “What’s the ‘s’ word again, Zaff?” I sigh. I have a vague recollection of having this discussion dozens of times before. You’d think I’d remember the…Continue

My hubby is a little obsessed with Hellman’s mayo. To the point where his favorite snack is Ritz crackers topped with it – and he can eat a full jar in one sitting. Not.Joking. So I wasn’t surprised when we were cruising through Sam’s Club a couple of weeks ago and he told me about a recipe for some chicken concoction he had found using mayo. I didn’t really think much about it again until this afternoon: when I realized we had nearly nothing in our fridge for…Continue

I feel like a hot mess this week. I’m not on my game and I couldn’t be more thankful that it’s Friday! Pre-School has really changed my little guy in so many cool ways but I’ll be the first to admit; its changed him in some not so cool ways too. He’s learning some ‘bad’ things from other children and then trying out his ‘new moves’ at home. Common, right? Of course! But one thing he’s learning that I don’t like are his new words and phrases. So, how…Continue

Confession: now that my little man has arrived, I’m absolutely obsessed with shopping for unique pieces to add to his wardrobe. Specifically, I look for things that would be perfect for the holidays – or for his next photo shoot, since he’s pretty much a little GQ model in the making! Anyway, in one of my weekend Etsy hunts I found these awesome customized onesies that come with matching leg…Continue

Today Rocco told me that his pre-school really hurt his arm. Alarmed, I asked, “What!?!”… “How!?!” His response as he whimpered and held his left arm? “They made me pick up a lot of toys.” The kid just makes me laugh… and roll my eyes… And yesterday? Yesterday he told me that his ears get loose. “WHAT?” I asked. His response to that one? “You’re losing your head and my ears are getting loose.” Here’s what I came up with: When I do something stupid (which is often) I say,…Continue

If you’re like me – trying to lose the baby weight, or just trying to lose or maintain your weight in general – there’s one thing that’s just as important (if not more important) to your lifestyle as working out is: and that would be what you eat. Here’s the thing about nutrition and dieting: you can’t just change what you eat for a short period of time and expect to keep the weight off. You have to make a lifestyle change and dedicate yourself to not just working out…Continue

You know that one, the one asked by women who actually “do” something. SO what is it that you do? It’s also sometimes followed by a snarky, “Really, I would just go mad sitting at home”
First let me clarify one thing! What is the opposite of a “working mom?” Sleeping mom? Snoring mom? Snoozing mom? Just cause I am a stay at home mom, does not mean I sit around the house doing nothing. And second, the expectations of a stay at home mom are sky high. I am the go-to cook, chauffeur,…
