The first Pilloroo was made for my nephew Jacob. It was an army pillow that he carried everywhere. What did he hide in it? Anything and everything he didn’t want his older siblings, Stephanie and Gregory to find. Every kid loves keeping fun secrets and what’s more fun than a secret hiding spot that’s there for you in important times - Nap Time!
BillieJo and I have enjoyed making Pilloroos ourselves this past year. Friends, family and… Continue

So I've been a little busy lately. You may not believe this, but I actually turned off my computer and starting creating projects with my bare hands. No email, no text, no programs. Just me and my ten fingers. I enjoy crafty things. I appreciate them and I often envy other people's… Continue

I went to the doctor this morning and discovered that I am dilated to 1. I am almost 38 weeks.
This is good news. Last week the doctor told me that the little guy was evidently having some seperation anxiety.
My oldest was born at 38 weeks. My second was born at 41 weeks late--and she is still slow. My third was induced at 39 weeks.
I am ready for the little guy. Now, just have to wait on him to get ready.

This is one of those situations that you put in the back of your mind with the idea that it could happen but, usually stuff like this only happens to other people.
Citigroup just announced that they will cut more than 50,000 jobs. That's a lot of jobs.
If this were the only company saying they were laying off workers we'd probably walk away from the subject. But, the reality is that we are hearing more and more about job cuts. Several other companies recently have announced mass… Continue

I just read an article that says that there have been an increase in race related crimes since Americans elected Barack Obama
Just when we thought we put a dent in racism in America, ignorant people have appeared.
According to the article:
From California to Maine, police have documented a range of alleged crimes, from vandalism and vague threats to at least one… Continue

People seem to go gaga over these give-aways so I thought I'd find out why by hosting my own.
My give-away is a Capricorn Barbie.
If I get a good response, I'll add more give-aways.
If anything, I may learn something new.
Got any tips?

2008 Under Soapbox Mama This morning I laid flat on the floor with my two kids trying to wake up. It was early and my brain had not cleared the fogginess of sleep. Both of them had been up for awhile and like all children, their exuberance had kicked in the moment they opened their eyes. I, on the other hand, have lost that ability to wake up and instantly have zeal and zest oozing from my every pore. Like many mornings, I lumbered out of my bed, into… Continue

CNN just posted this video
about that guy, who was a gal, who gave birth earlier this year. Well, he is pregnant again.
I have to tell you, I am so confused by this entire story.
He was a she but, had the operation to become a he and then married a she who couldn't have kids so he, who was a she, is having them.
This is an entirely new twist on the American family.

I have this notebook, you see (one of a gazillion because I like lists and such), and in it are ideas for gifts. Our closest family and friends are in there, as well as some random gift ideas I thought would be cool for anyone. And, starting right after my birthday at the end of August I begin deciding who will get what for CHRISTMAS. Last year, I actually handmade every. single. gift. And, it took me every day up until December 25th to finish them all. Then, there was Christmas. And, as I… Continue
