Dress Warm

It’s Fall here and that means a few things. The leaves are about to change, it’s the start of cold/flu prevention season, and lots of kids will be shivering and underdressed half the day.

With temperatures changing with the season, it is sometimes difficult to properly dress children for the day. However, it is better to be on the safe side with extra layers that are easily removed, than purple lips and shivering little bodies that result from a… Continue

Yep, I'm over 40.

I never really thought of being over 40 as an issue.

I've just been doing my thing for the past 20 years and haven't really noticed anything was different.

After college I married and had my career. Then came the kid thing. I gave up my career to be at home with my kids. Yes, I found small part time jobs and other methods of making money. Being home when my kids were home was my personal priority and something I've never regretted, even though I don't have the nicest car or… Continue

How to Organize Now for Christmas

I have to tell you I LOVE CHRISTMAS. Yes don't laugh I know it is only November 10th but I am already in the mood! We went Christmas shopping yesterday and woke up to a light covering of snow on the ground-hey I have to contain myself not to start blaring the Christmas music!

My philosophy is to get a jump start early on the things I want to complete for the season. Then I will have more time during the actual holidays to spend time with family and friends and NOT be stressed… Continue

My Best Friend/Therapist/Sister/Comic Relief

Nice picture huh? I know you all are jealous of how rocking Elle and I are in this pic from the late 70’s early 80’s! Let me first point out that Elle is the older one probably in her teens, and I, Stacy , am the younger one probably 4 or 5 years old. When I asked mum to email me a picture of us when we were younger, my youngest son saw it and I asked him who he thought was in the picture. And he said, “I don’t know, but that’s a funny looking boy right… Continue

Time to organize?

Here’s a funny thing, when I worked I was more organized. I was a working Mom for over 6 years and have been a stay at home Mom for only 10 months. Now that I’m home and have more time I’m less organized and more last minute. It drives me nuts. When I worked I had no choice, I had to be organized or everything fell apart. Now, if I’m not organized I’ll just fix it tomorrow, ‘cause I’ll be here. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I’m not busy now, it’s just a less structured busy, so if I need… Continue

Will Michelle Obama become a new role model for Moms?

Today is the day that Michelle Obama gets to tour the White House for the first time.

This will become her home for the next 4, and possible 8, years.

In a bit more that 70 days, Michelle Obama will assume the role as first lady of the United States of America.

It has been a while since there has been a 'family' living in the white house.

Chelsea Clinton to be exact. Like Chelsea, the Obama girls, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, will grow up in the view of the public eye. How… Continue

Tips For New Parents

I remember the day I became a mom as if it was yesterday.

I didn't know what to do, I was clueless and I couldn't understand how happy the baby is going to bring our small family.

The biggest tip I would wanna share with new mothers or new parents is to buy anything you can in advance and let the people who love you know you are gonna need their help and support.

My mom helped me the first weeks and it was a great time to bong with the family.

The new born got used to… Continue

Looking Forward To The Weekend

We're off to a friend's post-Halloween party tonite for a kid's birthday. My girls are probably not into wearing costumes again and we'll just wear festive colors. Its another dark dingey day on LI so hopefully we'll be indoors because I'm sure the yard will be muddy. Better remember to bring extra clothes and shoes.
I can't wait to hear tomorrow's phone conference call for salon owners using our system.

The economy sucks...what does this mean to your family?

Despite the euphoria around the newly elected President and all of the "change' that is heading our way, the economy is getting worse. Today

General Motors Corp., the nation's biggest domestic automaker , says it lost $2.5 billion in the third quarter and that it could run out of cash in 2009 if the U.S. economic slump continues and it doesn't get government aid.Well, guess what GM, we… Continue
