Do You Want to Make a Living with Your Blogging, Writing, Craft, or Music? You Can!

I am an avid Twitter user -- left to my own devices, I would tweet all day. I like to connect with many other people, mostly moms, who are interested in the same topics: natural birth, breastfeeding, attachment parenting, green and frugal living, homeopathy, and using social media. I also love to provide my followers (2550+) with valuable retweets they might benefit from.

I think social media is amazing in that it allows anyone with a message to get it out to many people — without it… Continue

Niche Store Profits / Earnings September & October 2009 (Audio)

As you may or may not have heard, EPN (eBay's affiliate program) has recently changed the way they pay their affiliates and most people I know have not been too happy about the changes. Although some affiliates are making more money on this new payout the vast majority are not. Not only that, people are concerned that they can't seem to pinpoint exactly how we're paid so that's a bit of a concern.

My earnings from September were $528.06 and my earnings for… Continue

Surviving Birthday Party Season

Within the last month, three of my six kids have had birthdays. It’s a very lean month in our household – topping up RESPs along with throwing a few birthday parties can take its toll on anyone’s budget.

In addition to not liking birthdays’ financial implications, I think birthday parties are a royal pain. I know many party mamas out there who relish in planning extravagant events, particularly their children’s parties. Indeed, I have… Continue

You have a voice. What are you going to do with it?

from my post on Mom Spark...

When tragedy hits, people band together, but when times are uneventful, people gossip, backstab, and hate. It happens in the workplace, families, and, of course, the blogging community. I often feel discouraged and disappointed from it all, and often wonder why we indulge in tearing others down?

The blogging…

Giveaway-- Hopper Dog

The other night, we went into Learning Express. Chloe immediately spotted this little bouncy dog, ran over and hopped on and went to town. She bounced all of the store chanting "this is fun, this is fun". I started looking around for the box they came in and found the price tag of 49.99. Now these things are the cutest things I've seen in a while but, me, being the cheap person that I am decided to wait until I got home to see if I could find them cheaper on the internet. A Christmas Carol the movie — creepy

So with relatives in town, I decided to take all the older kids to see Disney’s Christmas Carol. The kids were very excited and so was I. After sitting through the previews and passing out the treats from Halloween, every child was ready, trader jo bbq chips in one cup holder and a bottle of water in the other. The first scene was apparently Marley’s dead body in a coffin. His mouth was hanging open, very realistic. The kids all covered their faces and gasped. We continued to watch, but by the… Continue

Why Does A SAHM Need A Nanny?

Before I became a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom), I knew that I didn’t want my children in daycare, and I can’t quite recall if my husband and I had a thorough discussion about me staying home once we started a family. Our first child was born December 23, 2005. I thought I had two more weeks to relax and prepare for her arrival but she had other plans. She knew Christmas was in two days and wanted to come home Christmas day. The day I went into labor was also the first day of the MTA transit strike… Continue

Why do parents tend to dismiss inappropriate behavior as “a phase?”

Is your child's inappropriate behavior a phase or are you using that as a way to make your child's behavior more acceptable?

Pregnant Hot Flashes

Original Posting at NewlyParents.com

Cooling Off A friendly reminder for all the Dads to be:

When your wife is pregnant there will be times when she is hot, literally. The term "bun in the oven" seems to be quite fitting as she will constantly remind you that "It's hot in here.".

Driving in the car and it's 40 degrees outside? You will ultimately end up rolling down a window… Continue
