Here we go again.
The weight gain---loss seesaw.
This time it isn't necessarily our weight with the issues: it's Oprah's.
Seems like it was maybe three diets ago for Oprah, two for me, that she appeared on stage in 1988 lugging around animal fat with a weight equivalent to what she lost. It was 67-pound weight loss and she was wearing a pair of size 10 Calvin Klein jeans. She promised herself to never gain it back.
Been there. Done that.
It's about… Continue

I'm going to be having a contest on www.JenniferSuarez.com pretty soon. Truth be told it would have happened sooner but here's the thing. I bought a cool prize to give away and then I placed it on top of my fridge for safe keeping.
It was a great spot because I would see it daily and be reminded that I needed to take photos and put up a blog so I could give it away. However, it was a bad spot because every time I looked at it I thought to myself "That is so nice that I should keep… Continue

This little guy will be three in February and I am utterly ambivalent about sending him off to preschool. Maybe it's because we really can't afford the extra cost right now. Or because I've gone through preschool anxiety twice already and another go-round doesn't thrill me. It could also be because he's my last baby and I'm not ready to give him up to the school day schedule just yet.
When I lived in NYC this wasn't a… Continue

BRAVE enough to say no when it would be easier to say yes to my child, especially when I know that my refusal will make me unpopular and him angry.
PATIENT enough to let my child learn from his own mistakes.
LOVING enough to let him suffer the consequences of his actions.
HONEST enough to tell the truth when my child comes to me with a question.
SENSITIVE enough to be there when he needs me.
INTELLIGENT enough to realize that he has much to… Continue

I LOVE this time of year!
Is it because of all the lights and decorations? No.
Is it because everyone seems just a little happier during the Christmas season? No.
Is it because of festive parties, friends, family, good food and holiday cheer? No.
I do really like all of those things, but the reason I LOVE this time of year is because of the Claus Threat. You know the threat that goes like this..
If you don't eat those veggies you're probably going on… Continue

Kayla's birthday photos have been added to the Family Photos page. She had a great time and got a TON of gifts. There were so many gifts that for a brief moment I actually considered hiding some to re-gift on Christmas day.
I did try hiding the Moon Sand gift she got. I thought maybe I could hide it until the weather was nicer and the girls could play with it outside. It's similar to play-doh, except its sand, so it's messy and gets into EVERYTHING. Well I tucked it away in the… Continue

Alright, go check it out real quick before I have to add a new post for today.
December 23, 2008 will be "Shout Out for USA" day on Kat Logic. We'll be sharing stories and sending shout outs to the members of our armed forces. Regardless of your views on the war, this holiday season we need to stand behind our troops and let them (and their families) know they're appreciated beyond measure. Let's see how many shout outs we can send their way December… Continue

Tonight my Weatherbug is showing 17 degrees with a windchill of 1 degree. Yes that's right folks, 1 degree. In my book it's still fall. I can handle the 30s this time of year but when wind chill enters the conversation, I'm ready to pull the covers over my head.
Wake me in the spring!

Last nite I stayed up until 3 a.m. for some reason...stayed up with my husband watching movies actually. It seemed like the only time we have together anymore...with the kids and his internship taking away from our time we don't have much for each other anymore. But unfortunately, I woke up really late and did not feel like doing anything this day. But my daughter insisted we go to church and how could I deny that to her. And so I begrudgingly get myself together to go.
Today the… Continue

Apparently, I missed it again.
The airing of Oprah's Favorite Things- Holiday Edition.
The show aired on November 26, 2008. It will probably air again over the winter break.
From what I hear, the show did not follow the usual format of lavish gifts.
Oprah said that she could not in good conscience give away lavish gifts in such a time of economic trouble. This year's episode would be entitled "How to Have the Thriftiest Holiday Ever!"
As an… Continue
