I have always kept this blog post close to my heart. it has given me strength through those unbearable times and motivated me thru bullish thoughts. This has been my one source of guidance until posting here....hope you enjoy it...
You know people say that in every life a little rain must fall. They say that the only way to be truly happy is to grow from your experiences. Well, sometimes I get tired of growing and learning from my experiences and mistakes. Sometimes I just want… Continue

To celebrate mamma po's poo carnival I decided to post a very favourite poo story of my own (not my own poo of course!) This story will be told to 3year old when shes 16 and her first boyfriend comes round.
4year old was about 2 at the time and she was just getting the hang of potty training, she was very good at doing wee wees in the potty and she would jump up and down and point when she had done her deed. Going for a poo was still a bit hit and miss, she would sometimes make… Continue

The "other room" is empty right now.
"Where's bruver (brother)?"
Usually my reply is Oh, he's in the other room, baby. Today, that's not my reply. Today, my reply isn't a reply at all, as much as it's a brave attempt to choke down emotions, so I don't scare my two babies. "He's at school."
"Yes, baby, school. He'll be back later."
"He'll be bat way-der (back later)?" She… Continue

Like any kiddos, mine are big fans of critters and creatures. They are particularly fond of chipmunks, and at the cottage they spend a lot of time feeding and basically domesticating these little creatures.
Turns out they have made fast friends with the little critters at home as well. That was all fine until I noticed the filthy little rodents started tunneling everywhere and patio stones were sinking all over the garden. Daddy-o… Continue

Yes, I am helping to mold the perfect man.
He gives me the sweetest little kiss good night, every night and tells me he loves me. Unprompted
He can multi-task even when his favorite show is on television. I can talk to him without getting “shushed” even when it’s not during a commercial.
He does what I ask him, when I ask him.
He brings home gifts for me and hand makes the most special cards. Sometimes for no reason at all.
He loves making breakfast and on… Continue

WOW! Had a great weekend. Took our kids to Blizzard Beach, however, the chlorine bothered my sons eyes so this morning he had red eyes as he went out the door for his third day of the new school year. I emailed his teacher to let her know, hopefully I won't get a call to come get him. It is not infectious but we will see what the school thinks. Take home note, always stay in contact with your child's teacher to keep open lines of communication.

Why do family members try to take advantage of you? Well in my case because I feel sorry for everyone and want to help. I'm so upset with a few of them that think that they are the only ones and that no one else matters. You know what I feel like saying to you all go to ----- ! These two women are driving me crazy. Life comes with challenges and we have to figure solutions for them on our own at times. I can't agree with the decisions they have made so voicing my opinion just makes things more… Continue

Over the course of the last few weeks, I have been sent emails, instant messages and had conversations with folks who are tired of making excuses for why they have lived a less than healthy lifestyle. As someone who has had a similar problem in the past, I can honestly tell you that you have to look at why you are making excuses. If you constantly eat unhealthy, do you consume it because it's easy, inexpensive or you don't know how to plan or cook? If you chose not to exercise, is it because… Continue

So, I’m throwing this out there to you, because I’m not quite sure I did the right thing.
A little background:
My family is very close with another family. They are wonderful people and include us in so many of their celebrations. This weekend was no different. They have a lovely backyard with a pool, a dining area, a fireplace and an outdoor theater. It’s always just a FUN food fest there!
They were hosting a High School graduation party for their niece. Their… Continue
