When I was pregnant, there were so many things I was looking forward to. I remember holding my hands on my stomach, trying to touch the mystery that was my baby moving inside me. I couldn't wait to see what he looked like, or breathe in his new baby smell. I couldn't wait until I could hold him in my arms, touch his skin. I wanted to hear his cries and be there to comfort him.
Of all the things I was looking forward to, I can easily say that breastfeeding was not one of… Continue

It is quickly creeping up on us. The holiday giving season, complete with requests from organizations all over the gamut. I know so many people and companies are financially hurting right now and many that want to give are thinking a bit more carefully about if and who they will give to.
There are many ways to share your blessings. There will be phone calls, emails and snail mails from everyone in the coming weeks telling you why you should give to them. I have already received a few… Continue

One Single Impression Prompt - Departed
I was 25 weeks into my pregnancy
My twins were thriving inside my womb
On that day of january i got the bad news
was too short
Twins were ready to depart from my womb
The shock of it is hard to explain
My fear is palpable in its memory still
I was too far in pregnancy to get the cervical… Continue

I recently heard parenting defined as the art of growing human potential.
I think it’s a beautiful definition.
And it’s pretty intimidating. In the midst of a two-year-old exploring his growing independence, a feisty and precocious five-year-old, and all the demands of daily life, I’m not sure I’m up to growing human potential.
But whether I feel ready or not, that is the job we parents have. When we do it well, we help our children learn both boundaries and a… Continue

Hello, XMAS is just around the corner and it's time to bee seen and promote and send out links everywhere, but it's a lot of work and it takes up a lot of your time.

Have you heard about the woman who's going to give birth live on the internet? That's right, according to Boston.com, Lynsee (that's two "E's"), a 23 year-old teacher from Minneapolis, is going to bring forth her 1st child live on camera for the whole world to see.
Am I shocked? Not really. Grossed out a bit, but not shocked. She's going to famous. Really, really famous...for like half a day...maybe longer if she goes for the Petocin. Now who doesn't want that?

Most of us don’t wear pointy, golden brassieres or sexy tight cat suits so it may not be so obvious but I am convinced that all mothers are either Super Hero’s or Goddesses. Personally, I am far from being Helen of Troy or Hestia I feel as though I am more of a cross between Hera and Aphrodite with a little Medusa thrown in.
In the past three months my superhuman powers have reached dangerously high toxic levels as I managed to survive four… Continue

It's a battle that is fought every night by every couple in the world on some level. Some battles are more fierce than others. Some end in bloodshed while others end in complete tyrannical takeover. The people that used to occupy a space are ousted from their homes and forced to seek refuge somewhere else (usually the couch). Adding a twist… Continue

Hunt Her Down by Roxanne St. Claire
Wow! What a great book! I am pretty picky about what I read for enjoyment and this one definitely hit the spot! I was thrilled to find the Bullet Catcher series and I saw that other readers of Roxanne St. Claire's bullet catcher series say that they are addicting i checked on Twitter :) In this book we meet Maggie a young lady dating a drug smuggler and money laundering family member. She also has a love affair… Continue

I’ve been thinking how bizarre it is to be one of those people who uses a leaf blower. I never thought I would be the leaf blower type, especially not the type to use one indoors. When we moved to the burbs in 1999, there were two people in my audible surroundings with a leaf blower. I imagine they happened to be in the home and garden section of one of the big box stores on the very first day leaf blowers went retail. They just had to have one, the way Homer Simpson has to have a doughnut:… Continue

What would a geeky mom do with her time off?
I went to Panera Bread this week and worked for 2 hours just to get educated about meta tags
I know many of my friends here have bought personalized themes and I believe such things come all built in.
I have done everything myself, with help of tutorials, right from the beginning ,hence needed more info.
I was very happy to get my page rank earlier this week because it takes me out of the 'sand… Continue
