I’ve been feeling anxious lately. Unsettled. Discombobulated, even. And if you’ve ever been combobulated, you know how unsettling the opposite of THAT can be. I’m only saying.
Perhaps it is the heat. Here I am hard at work inside, while the sun is shining away outside, all, “Come out and PLAY, cave dweller!” And I’m like, “Don’t interrupt! RUDE.”
Perhaps it is the sounds of imminent summer pressing against my bedroom window. The first wave of summer bugs and their… Continue

Where do I start??? There has been so much going on in my little world, that sometimes I feel as if I'm going to lose it! So, when I had my daughter at 21 things were GREAT! She was such a little angel (which she still is when she wants to be) and she was such a joy to have. But when she hit that 10 month mark I thought I was going to lose it. My Little Madison doesn't cry she's a screamer and that scream will give you the biggest headache ever. She's also going through that clingy stage; where… Continue

I love to entertain. There's something about creating an atmosphere where people feel comfortable, enjoy good food and good conversation, and can relax that really gets me. Playing hostess is fun, and being a good (nee exceptional) and attentive hostess is important to me. I thought that if I was ever give the opportunity to have my dream business, it would be in party planning. Well, after the stress of this week, now I'm not so sure.
When Maria Bailey of BSM Media asked me to be… Continue

We have been having a really bad 2 months with my son who is 5. We have been very much against medicating him because we fear side-effects and the fact that there just isn't enough research out there to tell me that there will not be damage to his brain/body long-term. I could never forgive myself if I gave him the medicine and then something awful happened to him that was irreversible.
We have started him on some vitamin supplements that were recommended to us by and expert in… Continue

I added to my profile or My Page...a video by Anita Renfroe who sang the Mom's Song in the William Overture. If you never have heard this song sung by Anita then I highly suggest you sit back for a good laugh.
There is also a version out there of what the kids hear...to funny! It is on my original blog if you like to hear it.
There is also one on Dad's posted here!

My 3 girls all have 2volumes,very loud and extremely loud. When all three get going either playing, fighting or laughing it can be deafening and sometimes the unbearable din becomes suddenly silent. Its wonderful you maybe thinking, but I have learnt to become very worried when it all goes quiet.
This afternoon was one of those occasions. 3year old asked to watch a DVD in her bedroom so 2year old and 17month old followed her upstairs, settled on each of their beds and relaxed a… Continue

While it might sound like the beginning of a joke... it's not. It actually happened. A pregnant woman in Colorado Springs was fleeing from a bear on Thursday morning when she was hit by a slow moving car. If you missed this story and the other odd-ball "mom news" that made headlines this week be sure to stop by my blog at ChitChatMom.com
to catch up.
Have a great weekend mamas!

I've been told I'm a procrastinator. I have to admit, I am. I don't know why I became that way..but I am. And you know what? It truly sucks! (LOL) Yes it does! I used to be so ... umm...like OCD- obsess getting everything done on time, being on time at places, and so on. Now...well... I often just don't care anymore. I don't know if it is part of my depression or if this is a trait I picked up along the way of my "way ward life". Some would almost say it is part of my "rebellious" personality.… Continue

I recently gave everyone a challenge to create a prayer closet space. Today I thought I would post a picture of the space I created in my own closet. It is a very humble start to what I hope will turn into a place that I can use as a routine to go to God when I need to ( yes you can go to God anywhere but this will help someone like me to establish a better routine for daily or weekly prayer). This is the space that is created under my shirts when I hang them all together in the closet, I have… Continue

A few months ago during one of our more "social" small group gatherings (in which all of the guys tend to gravitate to the kitchen to be closest to the snacks while the girls sit in the living room where they can talk about "girl stuff"), Lydia shared with us a deep fear that has been seated in her heart for a long time.
Being that she is in her early 30's, the possibility of it coming to pass was getting closer and closer. She was sorely afraid - nay, terrified even - of attaining… Continue

I just tried to call my BFF Paige
, but her 4-year-old answered and told me, “When she lets me play Wii, I’ll let you talk to her.”
What can I say? Props to the boy for his mad bargaining skillz.

Last night was the full moon.
Warm bright Mooniest Moon. And looking at it, I noticed the clouds racing past, over and out, as though the moon were playing peekaboo. There are times when I feel I'm riding this life in a little night boat, and some things that may matter one day, like remodeling a kitchen, can seem trivial or momentary. As though time were drifting my boat too fast round each curve to take it in or want for a thing. Are the clouds racing, or is it me? I am a… Continue

I woke up earlier to a Billy Joel song-Paino Man
. I don't know where it came from but it is one of my Billy Joel 's favorite songs. Like his other songs, this one is a catchy song.
Now I'm listening to his CD of all his favorites. He is one of my favorite artists.
It is interesting how a lot of the music out there influence us. Not just how the song has been sung, but how most of the lyrics we can relate to.… Continue

My son is 23 months old and we started potty training months back (around 18 months). He was on the younger side, but was showing signs of being ready that I didn't want to ignore. He started off being very interested in his potty, and would simply sit and read a book while I wondered and waited. Most of the time he would go pee or poop. We'd get so excited! We'd scream, jump, and praise him! Because he was younger, I didn't force it. Nothing like a training exercise; just time to time I'd try… Continue
