Happiness Is...

Lately I have been thinking about happiness, probably because I am happy. Finally. For a long time I haven’t been happy. There was little joy in my life, I rarely laughed, and I saw the negative more than I saw the positive.… Continue

Wordless Wednesday: Payback’s A Bitch Edition! (Courtesy of The Dad!)

Yep, turn about is fair play…& after much male bashing in Crazy Town of late, The Dad has, admittedly, taken it with grace & humour…for once! In doing so, however, he did have a request…to take part in Wordless Wednesday this week. Well, ya know, I’ve always tried to teach my kidlets that if you can dish it, you’d best be willing to suck it up & take it in return. And being an…

How do people use Facebook?

I added a poll about the uses and abuses of facebook on my blog. Check it out and respond to the poll. It will take all of two seconds...we're all busy moms.

I'm new, so send me your blog sites, and I will check you out in return.

Thanks, Marina

In Memoriam

Among the things I most remember, one easily stands out: your long arms, always braceleted with stunning bangles that clinked together when you spoke. Your voice is unmistakable and sonorous – it is downright impossible to miss you in any space you grace. People are easily drawn to you and your ability to command an audience, big or small. Around you, large spaces often became small when you entered … your strident walk, a trait you share with your entire family.

I can’t believe you… Continue

Eating for Energy!

The body uses different nutrients to provide lasting energy at each stage of activity. Those who are generally more active must load up on the carbohydrates since they are the first nutrients to be turned into energy. Proteins are used for muscle recovery by allowing the body to produce some amino acids, which are not normally found in the body, but still required for active people. There are many…

I'm an ISFJ

I love, love, LOVE taking tests about myself. It’s so neat to be able to be more introspective. I guess you can’t really attribute everything as being correct, but it amazes me how accurate some of these things are just from answering 100 questions or so. I recently took Strengths Finder 2.0 because a girl I work with brought in the book and I…

Evaluating Our Choice To Homeschool

I have been homeschooling my oldest daughter B since Christmas break of this current school year and looking back, I have come to a few conclusions about our choice to homeschool and what direction we are going to go in the future.

A few pros

I really loved the freedom that homeschooling afforded us all. We could make our own schedule and work our schooling around our life. If we had a doctors…

The Great Escape

mso-ansi-language:EN-US;mso-fareast-language:EN-US"">I ran away from home on

Saturday. Seriously…I did. I didn’t pack a suitcase or pack a

snack…and I did eventually come home…five hours later, but I ran away nonetheless. Friday was a really bad day with the

kids. It was just really bad and I

was so tired at the end of the day, I went to bed early. Before crawling into bed, I went out to

the living room expecting to see the kids tucked safely away in their…

Do You Have Facebook Anxiety?

I avoided Facebook for a quite a long while.

Then, as I decided I was going to start a blog…it felt just a bit funny to have anxiety over joining the online community while sharing my life on a blog for all to see.

So, I joined. I added a few people. I added more people. People found me. I found them. I’ve not really figured out the chatting aspect to it…yet.

But, I’ve remained a bit aloof of the whole thing because, I’ve decided, I…
