I wrote this blog post yesterday and I thought it was important enough to share via other avenues. I'm not quite sure what to do about it though... if I link it, will you look at it? :D IF I copy and paste it, it won't have the "extras" in it.
So I guess I'll tell you about it, if it strikes your interest, please go visit the whole post at my Blog
I blogged about how as a mom, my confidence in my ability to assess my boys'… Continue

I am a working mom so I really need someone to look after my baby girl while I'm away from 8am-5pm. Because of this, I was quite worried that she will be closer to her caretaker than to me, or worse, recognize the caretaker as her mom.
Thank God that didn't happen. My baby girl is close to me now. She's mostly by my side when I stay home during the weekends. She wants me to be the one to remove her clothes when she's about to be bathed. She's really sad when I have to leave for work.… Continue

What can I say about the most wonderful woman on this planet. Other than I am so VERY grateful that she is mine. She will be turning 75 this September, and whats so funny is that its taken so much time to see her as anything but what I remember her always being. Its been a tough 4 years, but the progression continues. One more time, God shows me that he won't give me anything I can't handle. She has lived a pretty healthy life so I haven't had the experience of taking care of her. But she has… Continue
To start with, I am new at blogging, but I figure, its somewhat like a public journal of thoughts that I don't mind sharing... and right now I am reading the most amazing book that I have picked up in years, not including the bible because that is THE most amazing book. I am currently reading The Shack by William P. Young. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it, and at the same time, I want to encourage everyone to read it. An interesting topic came out of what I am reading… Continue
You never know when you'll need them. You never know where you will find them. Some of them stay with you for a season and some for a lifetime.
I found mine at the PTO. There was a crazy PTO president that was definitely in need of meds. Or so we thought. Now that we look back on it I think that God had his hand in that mess all along. Right after our husbands deployed we got crazed PTO woman. That made us bond faster than normal. We ended up having BBQ's at each others house on a regular… Continue

Finally!!! Mark has produced more than half of the videos from our six-day holiday to Connecticut and North Hampton -- our November 2008 Rock Stars of Reading road trip. To prove this is really happening, here is a promotional video for the series. It's an extract from…

What makes you feel grateful for everything you have in your life? For me it is hearing the wind howl in the trees outside. I’ll explain…
Last night, I crawled into bed at 1 a.m. after finishing an editing project, and as I sighed and got all cozy and warm next to Landon, I heard the wind howl outside. There is something about that noise that instantly makes me appreciate that I have a roof over my head. Sure, most people do, but it’s not just about having a roof over my head. It… Continue
Samantha G. who is a member on this site asked me to post some tips about helping tween to get organized. This topic is a familiar one because I have an 11-year-old with lots of stuff. Last fall, I went through her room and completely reorganized and contained her stuff, which was quite a project, but to her credit went rather smoothly. Although my daughter is a visual type who accumulates a lot of clutter, we provided her with a place for everything...and, with a little push, she puts… Continue
Every morning, before my two toddlers wake up, I try to spend some time reflecting on all the little things.
A few months ago I started my Gratitude Journal. Just a small, spiral bound notebook that acts as a never ending list of my appreciation for our life.
They are usually very short entries...but it does amazing things to be able to stop in the chaos of a difficult day and read some of my entries. Start your own and with consistency, its VERY hard to have a negative… Continue

Yesterday I came across a mother on twitter who said she was not going to follow her pediatricians advice. Hearing her short tweet I couldn't help but to wonder what advice her pediatrician had given her that she deemed unfit to follow. Unable to contain my curiosity I asked her and her response was:
Like most moms, I'm use to receiving requests for project supplies from teachers. In most cases this is for stuff we use and have laying around the house, like toilet paper rolls or egg cartons. But what happens when the teacher asks for something you don't have:
