I did something this weekend that I have never done before…I went to my first rock concert. Yes, you heard that right…I have never been to a concert before. What concert was my cherry concert? Paul McCartney.… Continue

Toxins in Food- Be Careful what you eat
I think most of us CFS / ME sufferers are familiar with toxins upsetting our delicate immune systems so I have put together the following blog about toxins in some of the every day food we consume. This has been a difficult week for me with very low energy on most days resulting in resting in bed for far longer than I would like. I have kept it short but hopefully informative and when time and energy permit I shall follow up with a blog on… Continue

Its so often that someone tells you, oh your child is this age, he should be doing this, or shouldn't be doing this anymore. At first my new mommy self wants to compare my baby to others. Sometimes I'm like, "heck ya", Jaydon is ahead of the game, other times I'm like "oh....hmmmm". But see that is stupid. Don't compare your child to another, they learn things differently… Continue

This is my 5 yr old, Andy & his 3 yr old cousin, Amber. Without any pre-posing or instruction, I told them to just give me happy faces. What surprised me was how much "happy" they got into their expressions! Their eyes & mouths beam "happy." They even got "happy" to travel to their arms &… Continue

This morning Bean came downstairs and asked if she could paint. “Of course,” I answered. Moments later, Pip came down and joined her.
A little later on, Pip came into the kitchen… Continue

Whitney and Heidi share a bedroom. And when I say ‘share,’ I mean
occasionally when Whitney’s feeling extra generous, she allows Heidi to
*look* at the toys...the one’s they ‘share.’ So referring to it as
‘sharing’ might be playing it a little fast and loose. However, the one
thing they do ‘share’ in their bedroom is their thirst to destroy it. I
don’t mean burning it to ground kind of… Continue

While I’m on the beach topic…I couldn’t help myself.
What in the world is that title about? Hotties?!
No, not a mid-life crisis. Just a thought or more as motherhood and age settle in on this thirty-something-mom of three kids.
A few weeks ago I had a lovely best-friends-date. Yes, two moms, happily strapped with one baby each (all older children left at home.) Lots of… Continue

It wouldn't be summer if it wasn't busy at Dillon. We just finished Korea Camp, but this year that isn't the end of our season. We've added one more heritage camp opportunity with a African/Caribbean Heritage Weekend in Tulsa on August 6 and 7. Contact our camp staff at (918) 749-4600 or by email at email@example.com to register or learn more about our newest event.
We're also hosting a family weekend in Binghamton, NY on August 20 and 21 for adoptive families in the area. If… Continue

Recently we had some powerful storms rip through the area, causing widespread blackouts. Contrary to popular belief, losing electricity isn’t all that bad. Depending on how long it’s lost for, of course!
Some of the "upsides" to going without power I found were:
- Having an excellent excuse to make a meal out of ice cream.
- Enjoying all the candlelight
- Not feeling the need to check my social networking sites/emails/etc because I…

I think it's safe to say that July is just not my month for blogging! I mean, if you think about it, I think this month is probably THE month that you just don't want to do anything but get your "chores" over with and go outside and play. With the temperatures in NJ being in the 90-100degree range for most of the month, I've wanted to do nothing more than go swimming. I'm definitely not a water bug by default and this month has pretty much turned me into one! I have a ton of stuff to catch up… Continue

...I'm currently waiting for a more creative title to strike me...it could be a while!!
So I decided that today I'd peruse the World Wide Web and find some funny random facts for you all!!
- 40% of women have hurled footwear at a man (I'm definitely in the 40th percentile!!)
- The Yo-Yo originated as a weapon in the Philippine Islands during the sixteenth century (I could've told you that...those…
