It always seems to start with a phone call.
This time the call came during dinner preparation, a pot roast simmering in the oven with a pile of carrots and potatoes to peel. As the phone rang, I glanced distractedly at the caller ID. I didn’t want to answer. I didn’t want to answer because I had carrot juice on my hands. I didn’t want to answer because I knew who was calling.

Once again, we have been plagued over the bank holiday weekends with people walking through the fields with children and dogs. There is, unfortunately for us, a public footpath which runs through our land and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.

My son celebrated his First Communion today, and I couldn't be prouder. But I'll be honest. I hit a few snags in the planning. And I almost let the the big day get overshadowed by a lot of little things.
I realized at the last minute there was a problem with my son's shirt and had to drive to Wal-Mart on Sunday at dawn in a thunderstorm. Anyone who knows my feelings about rising at dawn, driving in thunderstorms or shopping for last-minute items will know the stormy weather outside…Continue

Today was the first day of the farmer's market which operates near my home. The market is open from May to October and it hosts a variety of local farmers' and crafters' products.
We started our excursion to the market by putting on our walking shoes. The market is only a couple blocks away, it's a nice walk and it helps build the anticipation of the market atmosphere.... …

The mountains of dirty laundry in our home are planning an attack. They know that I want them washed and put away (or set on fire, because, really? I have 4 pairs of pants. 4. I am not the one that wears all of this crap and if I can make do with 4 pairs of pants perhaps other people in my house could make some sacrifices as well. WE HAVE TOO MUCH!) and they are formulating a sinister plan to take me out before I get to them.

After fetching Aaron from the airport, we went to SS2 to look for his "favourites." He took over the wheel... mama here was very exhausted already by then... in fact, I was not feeling well, stomach cramps on and off... but then, that did not deter me from "walloping" these...
I guess the temptation was too hard to resist...... and I paid the price ...

My child is definitely mine.
No one switched babies with me at the hospital.
No, I have never doubted it.
Yes, she has my eyes, my nose, the same color hair, but her personality, the little things that crop up when you least expect them to, those prove as much about who a child belongs to as all of those genetic factors.
