As you can see, we Mabel gals take our blogging conferences VERY seriously!
Just back from BlogHer ’10 in New York City and quite frankly am feeling like I need a bit of a holiday. So much squealing and excitement on the first night left me with a nasty case of laryngitis. I spent the rest of the conference struggling to speak. But, you can imagine the energy of a conference with 2400 women bloggers all in one… Continue

After months of anticipation, the eagerly awaited weekend was upon me. #HomeHer, 2010! While others lucky bitches foolishly spent hundreds of dollars to jet off to New York city for BlogHer & sit in stuffy banquet halls listening to fabulous mediocre droning… Continue

Just once in a while.
So here is the compressed version of my… Continue

Today is officially the last day of July. I can't believe this summer has been flying by so fast. It feels like yesterday I was getting out the summer clothes and planning Raelyn's birthday festivities. It feels like time is just passing me by! And has anyone else noticed that it seems like it's already starting to get dark out sooner? Apparently, a cold front is coming through as well so this last day of July is feeling more like mid-September. I'm not ready yet! … Continue

My 92-year-old grandma looks a pleasant woman, and indeed she is - but truth be known, she is a woman of great power and everyone should be a little bit afraid of her. For me, I'm most afraid when I am about to share pregnancy news with her.
It seems an odd fear considering grandma gave birth nine times and her mother went through the ordeal a shocking twenty-one times (yes, twenty-one). So why in such a prolific family would I have this fear? Quite simply it is because grandma… Continue

I remember the birth of my first child quite vividly. The other deliveries tend to blend a bit. I've been known to say things like "during one delivery, my blood pressure was really low" or "one of my babies had low blood sugar after birth".
Which baby? What delivery? I can't answer those questions with any kind of confidence.
I even remember the details about Number One Son's first year of life. Not so sure about the others, but I can confirm that they wore nothing but… Continue
