My One Month Postpartum Body

It's been over a month after the birth of my baby and I've managed to lose a bit of weight. My prenatal weight was 57 kg and three days before I put to bed I weighed 74 kg. Now, a month after delivering my baby, I’m just a little over 62 kg. So yay me!

It's well known that mothers who breastfeed burn about 500 calories a day, so its very important to top by eating, albeit eating healthy.…

Low Fat Percentage

Dropping below the required body fat percentage over a period of time exposes you to the risk of…

Picture

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Actions speak louder than words. In fact, they speak 93% louder than words. That’s because, case studies prove that 93% of our messages are communicated through body language, divided between 55% conveyed through the emotional messages of face-to-face interaction and another 38% transmitted through the voice. This means that only 7% of communication is expressed by our words. That’s astounding!

In practical terms, this means that we can be giving the most loving, caring speeches to a…

Working Mom Maintenance: High or Low?

I've just had my first hair appointment since returning from vacation a week and a half ago and I have to say I am feeling pretty great. My amazing stylist, Carl, decided to switch up my normally shoulder length bob to a shorter version for the summer. It's inspired by the classic Vidal Sassoon bob and I am loving it.

Over the years, my maintenance routine has varied with my job…

Boobs Are Funny

With 13 y/o and 10 y/o daughters the topic of bodies and their ever-changing state seem to be daily discussions. I don't mind. I grew up with a fantastic mom who let me ask anything and honest answers were given. (It was really up to my comfort level in what I wanted to ask.)

I'm doing my best with my answers (thank you American Girl "The Care & Keeping Of You" !) but sometimes it…

A Mother's Body

Ben and I went out for dinner Saturday night. And, in an effort to notch things up a bit, I let out my ponytail and changed out of my sport bra.

While I was in the shower I thought about what I’d wear, and decided on a pair of jeans that I’d purchased years ago, two pregnancies ago, in Chicago. And people, these are the kind of jeans that require you to bring your A-Game whenever you try them on. The kind that CANNOT go into the dryer,… Continue
