Who am I, really?

As an author and a speaker, I am frequently asked to give a bio of who I am, what I do, some of my accomplishments, etc. I usually adjust the sentences depending on the audience and my speaking topic. I simply cut and paste the same bio I've had for several years.

However, it was during a…

Storytelling isn’t only for writers or Hollywood producers, and this book is a great resource for people who are starting a business or venturing into the world of entrepreneurship.

How To Avoid Business Burnout

One of the biggest pitfalls many entrepreneurs face is business burnout. This is due in part to the fact that building a business, and maintaining a successful business generally requires more time and energy than if you were to work for an employer with a set time to arrive and leave the job.

As entrepreneurs, it becomes all too easy to go from working a few hours a day to putting in overtime, even skipping sleep to build a business. And though their are occasions where being apart…

Meet Medical Thriller Author Rudy A. Mazzocchi

Unlike many authors, Rudy A. Mazzocchi wasn’t an avid reader as a child. It wasn’t until high school when he started appreciating the value of reading. “It then became an important part of my life during college and then again as an enjoyable means to pass the time while traveling for business, early in my career,” states the author. Back then,…

ENTREPRENEURWHAT?

Entrepreneurship among women is on the rise.  In this economy it may seem like an uphill battle, but it can be done.  Many women and men fail in business for a number of reasons but mainly for lack of planning and capital, but studying the market and gathering the resources you need can aid you in being successful.  The scripture "My people perish (or fail) for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6) rings out when mentioning this.  Research can go a long way when considering whether or not you…

No Children Allowed, AKA THE BRAT BAN?!

I'm so rarely ahead of the curve however just last week some 28 yo friend of my youngest sister was hollering at me on Facebook about "my alleged parental indignation" over not being ALLOWED to take my kids to see a Harry Potter movie, at ten in the morning on a summer's day. My sister had gone to a movie theatre that had a bar and reserved seating and was gushing about drinking cocktails at ten am while watching Harry Potter with nary a kid in sight. Her friend chirped in, "I hate kids and…

Inner Circle Watch: 1 in 4 Women Admit To Posting Unflattering Photos Of Their Friends On Facebook, On Purpose

"Keep your friends close and your enemies closer." Nowadays you really have to be careful of your inner circle because those who you think care the most about you could be your worst enemy.

As I've gotten older, I realized that my mom was right about a couple of the "friends" I thought I had. It truly amazes me how people will pretend to care about you while all along…

Free Advertising for WAHMS!

As I approach a higher number of followers, I've actually been getting some advertising requests from some work-at-home-moms. I am flattered and excited moms would chose my humble little blog for some ad space AND be willing to pay for it.

I will have ad space available when I reach some more followers. And I want to make it clear that I will never charge for ad space. See the thing is, I already have my own business, and I feel very strongly that I want to keep my blog as just my… Continue

Why I became a Mompreneur

I always feel like I jumped into this being an entrepreneur thing backwards. Because I started it up, then let it run, now I'm going to school to better my business. I guess it's kind of how I've done most things in my life, leap before I look!

Although, that's not always a bad thing, I learn quickly and there's no better training than hands-on,… Continue

Inspiration-If it doesn't knock, build a door.

One of the first inclinations I had that made me feel like a writer was when I found inspiration hitting me at the most inconvenient times. Like 2 o'clock in the morning for example. And you just can't shake the feeling that you have to get this out or it will be lost forever in the abyss of your mind.

So I get up out of bed and drag myself to my computer and log in to Blogger (okay...and Facebook) and then I stare at a blank screen for 15 minutes.…
