** 'Tis the season to be an asshole.  Apparently.

** I am not the Energizer Bunny.

** The Elf on the Shelf might very well be my nemesis.

** Anything that's lost is very likely at the bottom of my son's backpack.

** I should really write a country song cause I've got the homework blues.

Looking back on the memories of…

This post was featured on my friend's blog Life with Lesley as a guest post.

Christmas past, and the times shared with those I love.  The most memorable past time of mine was to visit the local theater, not to see a movie, but to watch a performance.  Making it a memorable event we would most often wear a green or red dress which was embellished with plenty of lace, and…

This is why Advent Sucks...

http://www.thepiggytoes.com/2012/12/05/this-is-why-advent-sucks/

I don’t like that word (sucks), but honestly, it’s exactly how I feel about this whole ‘Advent’ thing right now.  Here’s the deal.  On one hand, I have Rocco who is rushing away the days just to get to the next day, the next number, the next gift; and then there’s Roman who is only interested in Advent because…

Its always good to have a mama friend keep you up to speed with things such as… the day of the week.  Here we are again, the day before DECEMBER 1st and once again, I forgot to make an Advent Calendar/Tree/Box… anything.  Thankfully, I had my daily text chat with my friend T who was wrapping her kiddos advent gifts…

The True Meaning of Christmas

As a kid, it's hard to see the big, wide world outside your own tiny bubble of existence.  (Heck, it's not easy even as an adult sometimes!)  That's why I've made it my mission to try to teach my kids to help out people in need.  And one of my favorite holiday traditions for our family is to help fulfill the Christmas wish list of a child in need.

For the past…

Things I've Learned This Week

** The time change is making me think I'm late to everything.  (O.k., so later than usual).

** My town has already put up its Christmas decorations.  So we can now eat our Halloween candy under the mistletoe.

** After a thorough cleaning of my daughter's room, turns out there isn't a dead body in there after all.

**…

Things I've Learned This Week

** Once again, I have no desire to go out and get all crazy on New Year's Eve.  (I'd rather do it the night BEFORE New Year's Eve.)

** Christmas cookies seriously kicked my ass this year.

** Trying to write with a house full of people is like trying to have sex with a house full of people (uh....not that I would know or…

Most Amazing Present Ever!

This year, Christmas was good. Not 'first cup of coffee in the morning' good (which you all know is REALLY good), but 'came home from work to a spotless house, dinner already made, the kids already bathed, with cheesecake and moscato' good. Seriously...

In my last post, I covered how my kids' dad was able to come home for Christmas. Complete surprise to the kids, they haven't seen him in 10 months, and I've been contemplating sharing the video with the world (but I'm one of those…

Is the Jig REALLY Up?

Remember that story a few weeks ago when we lost the mother fucking Elf on the Shelf, and I was all panicked that it might be the last Christmas for believing in Santa in my household?  Well, it saddens me beyond words, but I'm pretty sure the jig is up (at…

Happy Day After Christmas.  Or Boxing Day, if you live just about anywhere but America!
I hope your Christmas was filled with peace and happiness.  Ours was fantastic!  Oh, sure, it was crazy and chaotic and unpredictable, but that's how these things go, no matter how well you plan them.  And the planning-that's what really saved my butt this Christmas!
