Have you heard, I'm doing crafts with my kids? - What? YES I'm serious.

This year, St. Nick gave the kids a gingerbread house kit, in spite of Mrs. St. Nick's strong objections. Mrs. St. Nick reminded Mr. St. Nick that the last gingerbread house she put together took two glasses of wine and assistance from a MIT structural engineering student.…

Christmas confusion

As a Christian mom, becoming more and more close to Christ, I can't help but feel a little weird about the way we celebrate this time of year.

The way I grew up was believing in Santa claus. And to be honest it wasn't until I was a little older when I learned the true meaning of Christmas. My kids are young (5,4,3 and 1) but even at these young ages, the 3 older ones know exactly what Christmas is. They are aware that we are celebrating the birth of our lord and savior… Continue

SCARRED ON CHRISTMAS. LITERALLY!!

I highlighted my scar with a marker smiley-face so you could see it. What's its story? In Christmas 1979, we were at the table for the big Christmas meal when my grandpa went to pass a dish, accidentally knocking over a taper candle, which fell on my wrist momentarily catching my wrist on fire. And… Continue

Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane...(http://notanotherdirtydiaper.blogspot.com/)

Yup, call me crazy but I did it. I booked myself a flight to the psych ward...well, not quite but.... I did do what some believe is the unthinkable. I booked myself and my two "toddler" daughters on a cross country (San Diego to Newark) trip for the holidays and am flying solo....meaning no hubs in sight.

Why?…

Tatted Mom's List of 10 Best Gifts for a Stay at Home Mom

I've read so many 'Top Gifts for Moms' articles it's not funny. Yahoo has them featured, Google, Amazon has their version, and that doesn't even begin to cover the blog articles out there covering what people should get their moms for Christmas. While I agreed with parts of many of the articles, there wasn't one I found that not… Continue

Mrs. Claus Knows Best

Mrs. Claus Knows Best

Hi Moms,

I love this quote by Mignon McLaughlin, "No matter how many Christmas presents you give your child, there's always that terrible moment when he's opened the very last one. That's when he expects you to say, 'Oh yes, I almost forgot,' and {you} take him out and show him the pony."

Now, here is my favorite Christmas tale about our kids when they were pre-school ages. The story is excerpted from my book… Continue

Contest - Gift Card Give Away in Time for Christmas

Now, who couldn't use that?

Christmas is days away people. DAYS.

I know this because my 12 year old is counting down every single bloody day.

Has she told me yet what she wants? Nope.

The girl has everything she could ask for, including an awesome mom, so this year, she really doesn't know what she wants.

Know what she's going to do? She's going to leave it up to me and then 3 days before Christmas she'll have her heart set on something that I…
