Lewis and Clark Webquests

Lewis, Clark and the Corps of Discovery began their westward expedition on May 14, 1804. The main objective of the expedition was to find an easy water route across the newly acquired Louisiana Purchase to the Pacific Ocean. The study of U.S. History would not be complete without covering the expedition of

Lewis and Clark. The expedition which began on May 14, 1804 was to

ascertain the resources available within the newly acquired Louisiana

Purchase. The expedition also laid much of the groundwork for westward

expansion.
