Easy Homemade Salsa Recipe

I love chips and salsa!  Whenever I show friends how to make homemade salsa they are always amazed at how easy it is to make.  If you have never tried, I encourage you to try this easy recipe.

You can add or omit according to your taste.  I know some people do not like cilantro, I happen to love cilantro so adjust the recipe for your family.
I do not think my salsa is too spicy,…

Cinco de Mayo DIY Photo Booth

Create your own DIY Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Photo Booth Station.  Your friends and family will have a blast snapping pictures and selfies.

My boys love taking silly photos.  I have done photo booth station's at my kids birthday parties and I say it's for the kids but the adults have so much fun with it too.

Easy Mexican Buñuelo Recipe

Last year my son had a culture day assignment where he wrote on our family Mexican heritage, he made a paper Mexican doll, and he could bring in a treat to share with his class.  I decided to make buñuelo’s for him to bring in.

My grandmother and my mom make "real" buñuelo’s with homemade tortilla dough and they are delicious.  I decided to take the easier route and use store bought flour…

Mission...Patio!

I am very limited to what I can do to spruce up my space with my space (#renting). Before you shout out your favorite DIYer on YouTube, Pinterest, or Blogger (I follow many) I prefer to let my own personal style come through. There are times when I am collecting pieces for decor that I've seen and admire and other times I just feel my way through. There are several backyard/patio sets and scenes I admire and others that I'd love that don't quite fit the budget nor my style, I haven't decided…

Father's Day DIY Gifts

OK I will confess that I found the second Father’s Day DIY idea here on Pinterest a few years ago. The execution of that pinning pro was much more lovely than ours, but that doesn’t really matter.

When you’ve been parenting a long time, these holiday gifts become more challenging.  We’ve gone through all the young kid crafts, like the paper tie and the construction paper cards.  My husband is not a sports fan or a golfing guy so it is even…

5 Landscaping Ideas for Small Gardens

Don't you just love all the adjectives estate agents and designers use to describe small gardens? Petite. Minikin. Bantam. And then we upgrade from foreign words to compound adjectives like space-savvy or better – clichés like less is more. But let's face it – less is less and for whatever reason you have a small garden space, you just have to embrace it. As seasoned London landscaping experts say, learn to love it. Because…

DIY laundry soap didn’t work for me

As a HUGE fan of Pinterest I’m always looking to test out new recipes and DIY tutorials that I find on the site and DIY Laundry Soap seems to be a very popular item for stay at home moms to try at least once in their housewife careers.

Personally I’m attached to Tide and Bounce for my washing and drying…

DIY Your Own Wall Art (Instead of Spending a Small Fortune)

We haven't lived in our apartment long and therefore I am still in the process of decorating it (does that process ever end, though?). It's an industrial loft with very high ceilings and all white walls so for me, a lover of art, color, and texture, getting the place…
