Favorite Mom Moments

In honor of Mother's Day I'd like to list my top mommy-moments (so far):

1. The birth of both my kids.....incredibly different since one was full term and one was at 27 weeks...but they both rank right up there as a couple of the most beautiful moments in my life.

2. Savannah's first smile

3. Tucker's first round of stitches...and then second round 10 days later!

4. The fact that Tucker (4yo) still wants to "snuggle up" first thing in the morning

Mother's Day is for Moms

Mother's Day is poignant for most of us. We all had a mom and we are moms. Hopefully, our moms were good moms though I do know from drying the tears of many women that not every woman had the mother she needed. And for that, my mothers, I'm sorry, because it’s a pain that stays a long time.

My mother was a good mother but she made mistakes. As a bossy first born I was quick to point them out whenever the mood fit me.…

When the Flowers and Balloons are Gone

It is the Friday before Mother’s Day and I am reflecting on all that makes me a mom, especially a mother of internationally adopted daughters. I am a typical mother,

I make sure my kids are well fed, with as little sugar and processed food on

the table as I can manage…although I tend to lose the candy game with their

Dad. I make sure they have clean

clothes and that they started out matching when I bought them…not always

successful on the fashion…

Will Work For.....Peanuts? My Sanity?

I'm feeling a little overwhelmed lately and it's my own doing. I have become one of those over-scheduled moms who tries to do it all plus some...we have an activity for almost every day of the week, belong to a local mom's social group, play groups, I do laundry twice a week, keep a fairly clean house, and have this blog.

Now I have a job interview tomorrow. Yes a job interview. I have been considering going back to work for some time now and sending resumes but with this… Continue

May Mayhem...A Celebration Of Motherhood!

Parenting drama (trauma??!!) aside for the moment, I’m relieved to have the chance to pass off the reins tonight & let someone else amuse you with their own parenting journey! My #1 Earth Day Pick and Giveaway!

Happy Earth Day, everyone!

In honor of Earth Day, I would like to talk about one of my favorite green products of all time - Shaklee's Basic H2 concentrated cleaner. For over 50 years, Shaklee has been green, even back when it certainly wasn't the popular thing to do. I love how they were the first company that was certified climate neutral and all their products are made in harmony with nature. …

Another Day, Another Workout

So as my challenge progresses I realize how lazy I actually have been! I just finished my second “workout” with the Your Shape and I am feeling it. (Not that that is a bad thing.):) My back is killing me and so are my abs, butt and legs. I know this is a good thing right now, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it!...
