Starting Family Traditions

Reminiscing about my childhood is easy to do considering all of the greats memories I get to remember and share with others. It is because of my great memories that I want to be sure to pass the same feeling and memories on to my children. Passing down family traditions is something I want my children to not only enjoy, but I want the traditions to mean equally as much to them, as they do to me. I want to create memories for a lifetime, and ultimately they pass the traditions down to their…

My Birth Story - Baby #4

My due date was set for July 1st, 2015 with my fourth boy. My husband had just started a new job and was scheduled to go out of town June 15th through June 19th. At first I was not concerned I felt confident that God has always been faithful in having our babies come on the right day and right time, but as the day approached closer for him to be out of town, my nerves started to kick in. People would often comment “well at least it’s your fourth baby and not your first” as if that would make…

Allergy Friendly Recipes | Happy Mum Happy Child

I've recently been diagnosed with Coeliac Disease, meaning I have to go Gluten Free for the rest of my life.  As such I've been looking into GF recipes.

Strength Made Perfect in Weakness

A Family Approach to Guns and Other Weapons in the House

People will always have weapons in the house. One way or another. Collecting, security reasons or having them as the instruments of work. It’s understood that guns and knives don’t kill people by themselves. There’s still a danger around, especially when children are considered. Yes, kids can take the weapon and start running around and they will, so here’s a little guide…

The Sacramento Zoo

I recently visited the Sacramento Zoo with my two older boys on a school field trip and we had a great time.  I have visited the Sacramento Zoo many times, and try to go once a year.  If you have not recently attended they have made some new additions!  One of my favorite new additions is the Stage Show with Animal Talks!  They display different animals, share fun facts and information about the animals and allow you to touch some of the animals.  At one point during the show they invited…

Expecting Baby #4

We are expecting baby #4 due July, 2015!  It has taken me a while to write this and get it posted, between kids, life, my volunteer work and feeling tired from being pregnant I have not blogged much lately.
We are very excited, my boys are a little older and understand at a greater level what a new baby means, which heightens the excitement in the house.  They each talk to the baby and rub my belly and I love that they are more aware of our new addition.  When my oldest was…

The Importance of Having a Will

I’m embarrassed to say that I only recently got my Will in order. I have a 4 year old son and an 8 month old daughter and yet it took me this long to get my act together and draft one up. I would be lying if I said that I couldn’t find the time to get around to it. I did. It’s not easy thinking…

A Way To Win The Battle With Tourettes

Being a Person with Tourettes can be so difficult and challenging.  For a child, it can be even more difficult. Sometimes it is extremely hard for the child to translate to adults what is happening to them and they cannot control the tics that occur. Many seek every solution in controlling the tics but most often, even after Tourettes is diagnosed, a solution is often not found.  I have read that some visit doctor after doctor and trying tons of medication…

Family relationships. Brothers and Sisters

What is the place in this large, dangerous and hostile world where we can hide from all problems, find support and understanding? For the majority of people it is home. Who can help us in every situation, give advice, and just love us as we are? They are our mothers, fathers and, of course, brothers and sisters.

Is not it cool to have the…
