Tis the Season

During this Christmas Season I want to encourage you to remember the true reason for the season.  Too often we get caught up with Black Friday shopping, Cyber Monday, and all the holiday parties and events we attend that we don’t relish in the true reason for the season.

Jesus is the reason for the season!  As you shop, eat, mingle, remember we are celebrating Christ’s birth and as we celebrate and remember Christ birth, we should also be reflective of his second…

Thanksgiving at Our House

We start Thanksgiving morning with Praise and Pancakes at our church, it is one of my favorite things about Thanksgiving.  Our church has this special service at 7 AM, we sing a few songs of worship to the Lord and then one by one whoever would like goes up front and says what they are thankful for.  Most people are in their pajamas, its nothing fancy but special.  After we give praise to God for all we have to be thankful for we enjoy pancakes together and sweet fellowship.  My father in…

East Coast Road Trip With the Kids

Last Christmas we met in my brother's house in South Carolina and we decided to drive!

It's a 15 hr drive from MA to SC; but a road trip doesn't have to be boring... we scheduled fun activities on our way there, which made it a very enjoyable and memorable trip.

Family and Holidays

When you get married, it is not only a merging of two lives but two families.  With the upcoming holidays approaching have you discussed where you will spend Thanksgiving and Christmas?

It is important to discuss this ahead of time and both decide what works for your family.  We have been taught to pray and ask God where to be which is important; we should desire to be in the right place at the right time no matter the occasion.  What if you are supposed to spend…

History of the Carpet Cleaning

The carpets which adore almost all the houses have a long history of evolution dating back to the ancient times though it needs Area rug cleaning. We get the oldest reference of the carpet in the year 2500 BC which is found in the rock paintings of Egypt. As depicted in the rock paintings at that time the carpet rags were used for covering the floor spaces where the leaders used to sit. Gradually the carpet has undergone development through the ages in order to take the…

Seminars and Classes

This post is to encourage you to avail yourself to seminars, conferences and classes.  I know it costs money to attend and it takes planning for your family and sometimes rearranging schedules.  We need to recognize the need for concentrated growth in our lives.  Just like vacation time is important to relax and refocus our lives at times.  Times of investing in the Word of God, and classes/seminars that better our lives are necessary.  It is nice to go to a one day class, but there is a…

Operation Christmas Child Interview

I participated in Operation Christmas Child for the first time last year through my local church.  My family thoroughly enjoyed giving back through this organization.  All three of my boys loved picking out items for their shoe box; they each colored a picture and my oldest included information about himself in his box.  It was a great way for them to actively participate in giving back.…

How Do You Speak About Your Spouse

This post is to encourage you married couples to only speak well of your spouse.  Most people would think that is common knowledge but I am amazed at how many times I am with strangers and people I know and they speak badly of their spouse.  I know there are the extreme people who are unhappily married and speak horribly of their spouse all the time; I’m not talking about them.  I am talking about people who I know to have a good relationship with their spouse and yet they well say…
