Blogging Goals and How can I create a better blog?

So do you guys have any blogging goals? I mean do you set goals for yourself as a blogger and then try to reach them?  Do you just blog for fun, or to relieve stress? Do you blog for work, are you a career blogger? Is that the real term?

I was just talking with my husband last night about how much this blog means to me and goals that I want to achieve.  F.Y.I. I have a lot of them.  I'll share a few of the "blog" ones with you.…

Happy End of Holidays

Tonight The Bear and I went out to do some last minute shopping for some friends. MISTAKE! Big mistake. It was raining and crowded and absolutely ridiculous. Baby Bear was awful, which is pretty typical this

month. Probably because her nap schedule, that I worked so hard to

enforce the first 15 months of her life, has been totally up in the air

while we run errands and I give into her fits of clingy not wanting to

nap-ness. So, let me say, I cannot wait for Christmas to…

Heaven Becomes You Granny.

http://crikeymum.blogspot.com/2010/10/heaven-becomes-you.html

Monday night, my beautiful Granny left for Heaven, and although I miss her immensely, my heart is happy that she is no longer in pain, and, is free to sing and dance in Heaven.

Granny had been in and out of hospital over the past few weeks. One day mUm would call to say she didn't think she'd see the morning, the next, Granny was saying… Continue

Me and the Military

I often wonder if I should stay or if I should go. Today was one of those days that I just felt a little out of place. I don't believe in guns but I joined the military. My job doesn't require me to use one and so I sometimes forget that I am surrounded by people who believe that everyone should be toting a gun. I don't know if the military is where I belong or if I should be doing something else. The biggest threat that I have at work is a paper cut the pay and benefits are good… Continue

All I Know

I don't blog about my marriage. It was kind of an understanding we made back in the beginning. My husband read a few posts and thought he looked pretty bad, so he asked that I don't bring him in if I don't have to. I respect that and really try to keep him out. Try being the operative word.

But tonight something happened that was.... profound, if you will, that caused me to take pause. Ask questions. Complete thoughts.

I was playing outside in the back with my girls. It is… Continue

Who I Am

I am not a writer. I have no published works past the poem that was printed in the school newspaper when I was 12. I have no published books, though I proudly keep a children's book called "Nina Meets a Friend", illustrated by me in the 4th grade, and promise to read it to my girls and pretend it's an 'actual' book. I have no manuscripts except one called "Life Time" that is not quite finished. It is a little dark and hard to write so I take my time. Apparently, a lifetime.

Why Do I?

Why do I feed my children spaghetti, with red sauce, right after giving them a shower?

Why do I let them sleep without a Pull Up in my bed when they clearly can not hold it?

Why do I leave folded laundry on the couch for them to unfold and play with when I obviously could take a handful every time I walk through this house and put it away?

Why do I wait until an hour before my husband gets home to finally pull something out to thaw for dinner?

Why do… Continue

Should I use a free blog platform?

When I started blogging I started at wordpress.com, which was all fine and good until they deleted all my blogs. :( Then I moved to blogger and then as my blog grew into a business I moved to hosting my own blog.

: The Gifting Queen has done it again: The gift of making movies!

I am a huge on finding thoughtful gifts; my family calls me The Queen of Gifting. I will search the universe for the absolutely perfect birthday, Christmas, anniversary, or wedding present. I can’t describe the feeling I get when I see someone dear to me opening the most perfect present. Seeing their face light up at the first sight of “the perfect gift” makes the endless hours searching, thinking…

How Blogging Makes Me a Better Mom

From my full blog: www.snugglymonkey.com. Stop by for a visit :)

Okay, so I've been blogging for less than a month, am I really qualified to write a "what blogging has taught me" post yet? Probably not, but in my short time as a member of the blogosphere I have become

completely enamored with it. A good friend of mine sent me an email

today commending me for finally getting this blog & my etsy shop…

Dooce Inspired: The Case of Our Deranged Bed

I am reading Heather Armstrong’s (better known as dooce.com to millions who read her personal blog) book It Sucked and Then I Cried. It’s insightful, self-deprecating and hilarious, as I expected — I love her blog. So I thought I’ll post a dooce-ish entry inspired by Heather’s writing:

So we finally set up our bed tonight. We moved into this house about a month ago, and we still were sleeping on just the box spring and mattress. (Well, mostly Don sleeps in the bed and I… Continue

I Wish

I'll make this an ongoing wishlist for me. Selfish, yes. It's happening so deal with it or don't read me. I'm growing tired of troll inspired drama.

Today I wish I wasn't living seperate from my husband. It's time to make the move but the universe is against us.

I wish Asher wouldn't grind his teeth.

I wish I were beautiful.

My favorite Sink Strainer

Ok so I got a new sink strainer and I love it!! Absolutely love it. See my ordinary metal one broke and it was a pain. When I needed it to strain it wouldn't work. When I had to empty it out in the garbage it was a big to do.

Well I found a sink strainer made by OXO. It is silicone and the best thing about it: It si so simple to clean out. Just push it through until the one side pops out.

Love doing the dishes and cleaning the… Continue
