What I needed as a side companion reading Heaven is for Real while commuting to and from work was a box of Kleenex. I cried like a child reading many sections of this book.

This true story about Colton Burpo’s visit to heaven and his encounter with Jesus Christ happened when he almost died of a…Continue
I want love and joy to exude from my soul. I want those around me to see it in it’s fullest. How can a person walk away from me and judge that the love of Christ has not touched my heart?
Am I a stone?…Continue

Recently, a friend asked me to share my testimony. I was a taken aback. No one had ever asked me for my story before. Come to think of it, I wasn't so sure I had much of a story to tell. When I hear testimonies of how people had drastic circumstances that brought them to the Lord, I am usually in awe. There have been countless times during my parenting experience where I think we should really make religion more of a focus in our family. Now, don't get me wrong -- I, by no means, am a Bible beater; nor is my husband. However, little inquiring minds wanna know just who this "God" dude actually is and why so many people are always talking about him.

Lately I’ve been down and out with so much going on in my life it has dampen my spirits. I’m human and I can be honest and say sometimes I dont want to think about the positive side of things. There are times where crying and throwing myself a short pity party works for me.
You know the times where you feel like no one understands or cares or seem less than supportive. I found myself crying my eyes out today, it just felt like I had the weight of the world on my shoulders. I listen…Continue

Congratulations, you’re married.
You’re about to enjoy a honeymoon but it won’t be long before the warm, fuzzy fairy-dust of lovey-dovey grossness will settle and you’ll clearly see the relationship you’ve entered.
You’ll bicker over someone’s driving, limited closet space, and hangers.

Have you ever noticed the quiet hand of God in your life? I have. Like you, trouble doesn’t always pass me by, but I’ve learned to look for his hand of protection and comfort during my struggles.
For example, when my oldest brother, Keith, died suddenly, I was devastated. He was my oldest brother, my adviser and my confidant. Seeing the pain my mother endured was difficult enough, but the personal loss I felt was excruciating and…
