There are moments as a mother that make it all worth it. That you look back at all the struggles and decisions you have made to date; all the unattended soccer games, all the struggling to wrangle them into hockey gear, all the torturing moments and tears at swimming lessons-- and think to yourself-, "I made the right decision", or "I did… Continue

I am a fan of the Duggars. I admit it. I love this show. Don't know why I just do. I think in some ways they are seriously nuts. But in other ways I admire them so much. And if you are not familiar with them you can read about them on their website The Duggar Family. And of course their TV show on TLC "19 Kids and Counting". I am going to write… Continue

Whenever we're heading out somewhere, Hubby will always inevitably become perturbed that we're not running on time. He stands at the front door, saying, "It's 6pm. We're supposed to be there by now!" And that would be fine, if it wasn't always up… Continue

Just so we're straight- I'm not the one on the potty.

So, I can read, big deal right. It was pointed out to me recently that with the death of J.D. Salinger all my favorite authors are dead. Just in case you wanted to know the others include Douglas Adams and a bunch of long gone philosophers. I don’t make nearly enough time for my own reading pleasure anymore and no where has that been more… Continue

The British Journal of Psychiatry has published the findings of a new research study from the Australian National University. After studying 1,241 women, scientists concluded that women's memories remained as good during and after pregnancy as before. Prof Helen Christensen who led the study said "women need to be less automatic in their willingness to attribute common memory lapses to a… Continue

have in us!!

Not Me! Monday
I did not
wear a white and a black woolen sock to New York City the other day. Uh, yes I did. I was invited by Hasbro to a blogger event before they officially opened their doors for the New York Toy Fair (look out for the extensive blog post on that). I could only find one of each, it was 6 in the morning when I got dressed, and nobody was going to notice anyway. I could have worn other socks -- I have plenty -- but these are my… Continue

Now is the time to start a new resolution. Why not teach your child French? If you don't know how to speak French, no problem. You can learn with your child and it can be a bonding experience, as well as an educational one! Good Luck!

I have a mild case of OCD which doesn't bother me too much, but in the case of things like decorating the Christmas tree, can be a little annoying. Decorating the tree for me it isn't just about placing items where they look the best, it is also about having them feel right. I know, it sounds crazy, but there is an actual physical discomfort when things aren't 'just so'.
This year I decided to just enjoy decorating the tree with my girls and to just let go of my need to decorate to… Continue

Why do manufacturers skip over the size 9 for children?
Seriously, look at The Gap and search by size. Where’d the 9 go? And Old Navy? Same thing. It’s not just those retailers either. The chart on the left? (If you go to my blog
you'll see the chart) That’s from Garnett Hill. There IS no size 9 for kids there either. Why is this?
I can deal with this size 9 thing when it comes to tops. Boys tend to like their… Continue

I learned about Jennifer and Stellan a few days ago, and that sweet little boy has been on my mind since then. Jennifer’s beautiful blog, My Charming Kids, is actually one of the first mom blogs I ever came across seven months ago when I started my blog, but I hadn’t checked in until a tweet by another mom caught my attention. Stellan, one of four, is her nine-month-old adorable little boy who has heart failure, and Jennifer blogs about their difficult and heart-breaking journey every day. More… Continue
