Who I am. Life with Marfans.

When I was growing up not a lot of people knew what Marfans was. It is still not very well known today but new information about it is being shared more and more. Living with a disorder like this one has had its ups and downs. It has been challenging at times and every day is different. Even with these difficulties I try to stay positive. There is no use in getting upset about something that will never change. It is with me for life. If you would like to hear more about it and what its been…

Determining the Significance of Existence or Life Purpose

Finding the meaning of existence is a significant questioning attribute which is made possible in general making a co-existence in all attribute of living. Finding Balance

My only goal for this year is to find balance in my life.  As a full time working mom and wife, it gets pretty hectic and I feel as if I'm always trying to keep up.  So this is why my one resolution for this year is to find balance in my life.

It's not as if I haven't been trying to do that, I have for a long time and it's one of the hardest thing to do.  Sometimes it's as if you're pulled in so many directions it's mind boggling.  It's like where do I fit in the equation?…

What Does it Mean to Be Balanced?

What does it mean to be balanced?

To me, it means that you have a handle on the various elements in your life and don't feel that your heart or mind are being pulled too hard in any direction. More often than not, you feel calm, grounded, clear-headed, and motivated.

Once I was able to achieve alignment, my life flowed in a way that allowed me to truly enjoy all aspects of my life and give greater detail to them.

I wanted to share these steps to help you get your life…

1. Eat Good Food: Don’t eat food you don’t like.  Seriously, spit it out.  Gross. Push it on the floor. Demand it get taken off your plate. Don’t even look at it. Amazing Family Time!

I would have to say that the months of the year, that bring the flowers and green back out into the open are my favorite simply because they allow for amazing family time! Because we live in the Mid-west and experience winter month with ice, snow, and cold, it is difficult getting out to do winter activities. Sadly most of that reasoning is due to me not liking cold or being cold! LOL! So I try to let go of my “hermit” ways during the nicer weather and venture out of the house with the…

The stuff was yellow. It was dripping, slowly, down the shoulder strap of my small pack which contained my passport, my money, my camera.

This Momma Needs A Massage! & Group Giveaway!

After the last few days, this momma needs a massage! LOL! I can't believe how quickly this week has zipped by, any more than I can believe that we are almost through June and July is just around the corner. Of course, when the week keeps you busy, it is no wonder that it has flown by. I still find it funny that even after five months, I still have not managed to establish a routine with my days, which before long will make me absolutely crazy! Though I spent so many years living by the work…

How I Met My Hubby...

How I met my hubby...He and I absolutely love getting asked that question. Simply due to the odd looks that people tend to give us when they hear the story. It never really gets old, even after all of these years! But of course, it is a rather peculiar story. Well it all started right about twenty nine years ago, I was right around eleven years old. My dad was getting married to wife number four. I think that I had only talked to my new step-mom once before they got married. I actually think…

Protecting Our Kids *W/ Update

Yesterday I was offered the opportunity to guest post over the The Wondering Brain with the wonderful Jessica Dy. I have included a bit of an update from the original, marked by an asterisk below.

Protecting our kids is a full-time job in today's society, with threats around every corner. As the mother of three, ranging in ages from 10 to 19, I know that the internet is a huge draw for kids nowadays. My kids, like most, know almost all there is to know about online technology. There…

Books...An Unimaginable Adventure!

Post originally shared as a guest post at The Wondering Brain

Books provide access to an unimaginable adventure. One of my favorite hobbies has always been reading, for as far back as I can remember. As a kid, I spent a lot of time with my grandma, and every week during summer break we would ride our local city bus to our local public library. I would of course make a bee line to the children's section to select my books. I had…

What Is A Blessing?

What is a blessing? Wow, what a loaded question, right? It amazes me to think of the things in my life that I consider to be a blessing. I am sure that it is a list that could vary slightly from some and majorly for others. I have really only even started thinking about and realizing just what I have to be blessed about, in the last maybe ten years. I am not sure if it is something that most kids even consider, and I think if you had asked me at any point during my teen years what blessings…

The Succulent Wife Since 2007: A Look Back

By Audrey van Petegem, Chief Editor

It was in 2007 when The Succulent Wives came to be a blog. Looking back we are amazed on the plethora of topics that we have written about over the years. Some were poignant, some funny and many we had completely forgotten about. As our blog has grown, so has our readership and because of that, we want to share the ones that, to this day, are still…
