A New School Year of Firsts and Lasts

Today is the beginning of a bittersweet year for this Mom. My youngest--the baby--is now in middle school. That alone is hard for me to grasp since I can still clearly see his bright shining little face declaring his need to go see "It's a Small World" at Disneyland. And my first-born, also a baby in my eyes, is officially in the 8th Grade--the last year of middle school--ready to embark on a few adventures during the year, spreading his wings & heading towards independence. I would…

Highlights from Las Vegas Vacation 2016

We went back to Las Vegas again this year for more desert adventures! We stayed for 4 days/3 nights and had a wonderful and relaxing time. With Vegas, you have to plan ahead and make sure you take it easy on yourself especially during the hottest parts of the day. A notable change in Vegas is that many of the Casinos on The Strip & Downtown now charge for parking. It's not terribly expensive--about 5-6$ for a few hours, but annoying when you remember the good 'ol "free" days. And also,…

Kickin' Off Catholic Schools Week: Open House Memories 2016

Catholic Schools Week 2016 officially began January 31, 2016 with lots of rain! But it didn't stop the crowds that gathered to check out my sons' school. We had a great time visiting every classroom and chatting with the teachers. I love collecting memories like these...the boys are growing up so fast. I'm thankful to have plenty of pictures to cherish always.

Our Fun Day at The La Brea Tar Pits

Despite living in SoCal our whole lives, the husband & I have NEVER been to the La Brea Tar Pits before today (January 30, 2016). For some reason, it just kept alluding us as kids. The husband was suppose to go on a field trip in elementary school and the year that he was scheduled to go, they cancelled funding. And me, well, I've been to several museums in Los Angeles and have always heard about The La Brea Tar Pits, but for some reason, just never went. So, when the Los Angeles…

Our Walt Disney World Florida Experience (Repost)

Hi! This is a repost originally posted in January of 2015 of just some of our memories of our Orlando, Florida vacation...

When I mentioned to a few people that we were going to Orlando, Florida, the general response was, “Disney?” Although there are so many other attractions in Orlando, WDW is the main iconic attraction. The main attractions, not counting the Hotel Resorts and the Waterparks, are four theme parks: Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Epcot.…

Precious Christmas Memories 2015

It's been a very Blessed year and I'm beyond grateful that we were granted a beautiful Christmas celebrating with the special people in our lives. I've had numerous conversations with my children about privileges and being grateful for everything they have--most especially the gift of life, love & health! Above all things, it's our unity that I'm so thankful for! It is the true meaning of Christmas & I wish everyone peace: mentally and physically, to live life to its true potential…

Something Special to Share With The Kids On the Last Night of Summer Holidays

Well, the last night of summer is fast approaching, and I’m feeling sentimental about the end of another summer with my kids.  While I was thinking about all this last week, I got an idea that I am happy to share with all of you.  This little idea is not based on a family tradition, but is a new idea that I will be trying in my home on the last night of summer.  I thought you might like it too!

So, when my three children crawl into bed on that last exciting night before starting a new…

Growing Up Around Television

Video Games from a Gamer Parents perspective

So, my almost two-year-old has shown a lot of interest in video games recently. Probably because they are on more than TV shows in our house. Yes, we are the dreaded gamer parents. I mean, it kind of had to happen, and there are more and more all the time as all of us 90's kids start having kids.

And I have to admit, I haven't really got to any of the hard stuff yet, like really explicit or violent games that she plays or wants to play but she's… Continue

Free Advertising for WAHMS!

As I approach a higher number of followers, I've actually been getting some advertising requests from some work-at-home-moms. I am flattered and excited moms would chose my humble little blog for some ad space AND be willing to pay for it.

I will have ad space available when I reach some more followers. And I want to make it clear that I will never charge for ad space. See the thing is, I already have my own business, and I feel very strongly that I want to keep my blog as just my… Continue

Why I became a Mompreneur

I always feel like I jumped into this being an entrepreneur thing backwards. Because I started it up, then let it run, now I'm going to school to better my business. I guess it's kind of how I've done most things in my life, leap before I look!

Although, that's not always a bad thing, I learn quickly and there's no better training than hands-on,… Continue

Inspiration-If it doesn't knock, build a door.

One of the first inclinations I had that made me feel like a writer was when I found inspiration hitting me at the most inconvenient times. Like 2 o'clock in the morning for example. And you just can't shake the feeling that you have to get this out or it will be lost forever in the abyss of your mind.

So I get up out of bed and drag myself to my computer and log in to Blogger (okay...and Facebook) and then I stare at a blank screen for 15 minutes.…

Black Friday – it’s Not Just About Fashion

Fashion, eh? It comes and goes, then comes back around again, at once fleeting and eternal. A style is in one month and then is never heard of again – until it is heard of again, of course.

The quest for fashionable clothes never ends; it’s just that what is in vogue is always changing.…
