Let's make... Chocolate Crispies!
Over the weekend we popped over to a fellow mummy blogger's home to pick up some shelves from her garage sale. While The Husband was dismantling the shelves, Xan and I decided to do a little more shopping. He almost immediately spotted the cookbook among the boxes of books and while flipping through it, he got excited and told me he wanted to make everything in the book. Since it was only $4, it was definately coming home with us.

He wanted to make the Chocolate…

DIY Hair raising experience
I am known among my friends and some acquaintances as That Siao Char Bor With The Super Long Hair. How long, you ask? Try tickle-ma-ass-crack kind of long. I wasn't aiming to for a Guinness world record for the world's creepiest hair. I'm just the lazy sort who allowed my hair take over my head. Nong nong ago, pre wedded days, I would spend money on ampules, olive oil, fancy shampoo, exotic hair brushes and the sorts for my crowning glory. Now even combing it is a luxury. Notice…

Behavior Therapy
So now I’m seeing a therapist who sits in her chair and listens to me for an hour. Last week during my second therapy session, I asked the question… “Why do I need behavior therapy?” Therapist’s response, “Because we need to focus on your behavior. Not the thoughts or feelings that cause the behavior”.
Boy, did that make any sense to you? Surely makes no sense to me. Why not first study my thoughts and feelings, because obviously it’s these thoughts and feelings that are causing…

The Social Media Time Vacuum
I am totally guilty of getting sucked into Twitter. And Facebook. And now Pinterest. It doesn't help that as a small business owner with a limited advertising budget, social media is a great way to meet new clients and advertise. I may say I go on for my business, but I know I stay for the pleasure of social…

Needless to say, I am on my one month vacation and the days are real hectic, I am happy being with my daughters in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, after three years, Oh my God, the feeling is amazing, I missed them so much. I Am NOT The Perfect Mom!
Contrary to popular belief, I am NOT the perfect mom. Far from it, if truth be told. I do not pretend to do everything right, because I don't. I didn't get the memo or read the book with the instructions of what a "perfect mom's does." I march to the beat of my own drum, take things a day at a time, make up things as I go and occasionally mess up.
Since I have been off work, I cook dinner more than I have in the last 6 years. When I was working 50+ hours a…

Heaphone Hair!
As a mom that produces music from my home studio, I have been known to sport a special hairstyle I call, “headphone hair.” It’s hard to describe but there’s a unique shape the hair takes on from a day of recording. We’ve all been known to sport that “hat hair” look but when you wear headphones for hours on end it’s a special look of it’s own. Recording is such a timeless venture. One guitar track can take hours and once I dive into the process I’m usually sucked in for the…

Just Had To Get Out There!
One of the many hats I wear is “preschool music teacher.” In my music classes there are those kids that simply have to be heard. I see that star fire in their eyes and on their faces. They simply need to stand out, shine and share it with everyone!
I understand this. When I was 5, my dad took my brothers and I to a big theater in Cleveland, Ohio to see Captain Kangaroo live and on stage, along with his side kicks, Mr. Green Jeans and the Dancing Bear. It was all very exciting and it…

My Mom’s An Alien!
My first preschool music gig was at my son’s school Miss Sandies when he was 4 years old. I was so excited to be able to sing some fun songs with my son’s classmates, and especially with my son! That day we had music time outside since it was a beautiful spring morning. Out comes my son’s class all excited and they situate themselves on the picnic tables. We began with a good ol’ round of ABC’s and their sweet voices filled the air. Pure joy was written all over their faces as they bounced…

A Baby File
I had one of the those "If I Knew Then What I Know Now" moments at my sister's baby shower recently. While I tried to keep our registry to what I truly thought we would need, there definitely were a few items that found their way into our collection that I look at now and think…

WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY KID IS SAYING HE'S HUNGOVER!?!
This story takes place a couple of years ago when Jake was in 3rd grade and ranks a magnitude 10 on the Richtor scale of embarrassment. This was when I was working again full time and less hopeless (I joke). Anyway, Craig and I usually spent our weekends…
