My Appearance on The Dr. Oz Show to Inspire Moms Through Divorce

Taboo. Plague. Stay-away-from-her were the thoughts and feelings I had while going through the most unfortunate of relational events - divorce.  Not only is divorce devastating and painful, when kids are involved, the pain is indescribable.  I decided to turn my pain into something productive - an event to encourage other mothers to find resilience in their inner and outer beauty.  Beauty is power!  Yet beauty is the very thing we let go of during and after divorce.  This does not have to be…

My Homemade Baby Food Making Plan

I've had a couple of friends recently ask me how I find the time to make homemade baby food.  I try to explain it's not necessarily a matter of finding time but making the most of the time you have available to make the food.  Which of course means I have have an organized plan when I sit down to make the food...'cause…

Never Too Old for the Playground

After the nutty shaving cream fight on Saturday, Sunday was not measuring up on the fun scale.

I really didn't have anything planned but my kids' half sister, Gracie, was getting antsy as all first graders do.

The sun was out so I grabbed my camera and we loaded into the Yukon for a mini field trip to Ithaca's Woodland Park.  They have an updated safer play area towards the back of the park but I still…

DO YOU HAVE A STORY TO SHARE ABOUT THE M.O.M. IN YOUR LIFE?

In 2011, the Abstinence Education Council came in second in the National Moms in Business Crowdfunding Grant competition. This year we are again semi-finalists. Dear Donor

Dear Donor,

This letter has been 3 years in the making and many times written and erased. It brings me to tears when I think of all I want to say to you and all I would ask if I meet you. It also puts the realization into the fore front that my children, these three beautiful creatures are not just part of me, but part of an unknown! Everyday I look at them and watch them grow I can clearly see me in them, but the other parts, the ones that are so obviously not me, I can only assume…
