Well, I did it. I got a tattoo. Sending a huge thanks to everyone who weighed in on whether I should get one or not in To Tattoo Or Not. It was icing on the cake. The experience was great, memorable, and painful. The pain was to be expected.… Continue

Colby and I are leaving this morning for New Orleans. The Big Easy is a very special place for us. On June 21, 2003 we were married in Jackson Square in the middle of the French Quarter. Every year for our anniversary we celebrate by visiting the birth city of our marriage. Some years we’ve had to go before our anniversary and other years… Continue

As I sit here and type this entry on this dreary, rainy, humid Tuesday, I'm asking myself how on earth
is it possible that I'm just as tired now as I was before Kevin and I
took our 'stay'cation? Yep! It's been back to the drawing board over
here and today feels like a Monday for me. I'm already pooped! However,
we did have a relaxing, extremely needed weekend to ourselves and it
was so nice to have the weekend for just the two of us. We laid around,

The Generous Mr. Lovewell, the newest album from Mercy Me, will hit stores May 4th nationwide. The album is centered around a fictional character named Mr Lovewell. He's a man that gets up every day and does random acts of kindness; the type of kindness that has a ripple effect. Mr. Lovewell is a man who 'loves… Continue

A local pizza place, Bellizzi, asked me and other local bloggers to collaborate on a Blogger Salad, and he included my suggestion! He had asked me, via Twitter, “If you could be any ingredient, what would you be?” My response: “Red bell pepper — fiery and crunchy, and good for your heart — like me.”
Isi wrote an article about the Blogger Salad and all the other… Continue

At first I wasn’t going to chime in after reading Sunday’s the New York Times
article “Honey, Don’t Bother Mommy. I’m Too Busy Building My Brand.
” by Jennifer Mendelsohn. Then I read articles responding to it by other bloggers I respect and the many thought-provoking comments that were left. The mommy blogging word in is a tizzy, there’s even a Facebook page set up to protest the New York Times

My makeup bag contains one very old tube of foundation (because I only wear makeup on the rare occasions when my husband and I go out for dinner) and a few other dried up objects. I resorted to cutting my own hair when Mirabelle was a baby (because it just seemed easier than trying to work out a time when I could go to a hair salon, given she was BF and refused… Continue

The British Journal of Psychiatry has published the findings of a new research study from the Australian National University. After studying 1,241 women, scientists concluded that women's memories remained as good during and after pregnancy as before. Prof Helen Christensen who led the study said "women need to be less automatic in their willingness to attribute common memory lapses to a… Continue

Greetings from Leesburg, Georgia. I am new to this interesting world of blogging and am looking to network with moms who might share common interests. There are 1000s of sites out there for the younger mom with small children.... not that there is anything wrong with that lol, but I would also like to meet moms and grandmas in their 50s.
I am a 52yo married mom and grandma to three adorable babies. I enjoy being with family and friends. I love traveling to… Continue

Well, hello fellow moms and bloggers! I think that this may be a very enlightening year for me. My son will turn 2, I'm finally heading off to college, and we're moving for a new start. I am very excited to see where 2010 takes me! Hopefully, I will even meet some new friends along the way!

How did you spend your New Year's Eve? We took our three girls to dinner at their favorite Chinese restaurant, and then searched in vain for an ice cream parlor. They finally had to settle on a box of Neopolitan from Walgreens, but the kids didn't mind. Once they were at home, the youngest settled down in front of the Disney Channel for their year end marathon, the sixteen year old locked herself up in her room to watch another marathon, and the oldest went to a friend's house for a party.… Continue

So I'm getting deeper into social networking, social media or whatever else folks are calling it these days and I have to say it's all a little daunting. Updating stats, reading rss feeds, setting up readers and blogs..whew it has become as part of my everyday as making dinner. Well actually more like working out, it's become a job in itself. I'm new to blogging so I'm allowing myself some learning time. I'm so happy to have found this site!!!

Recently, I posted a product review and received several posts from my readers that they were either leaving or not happy that I was posting so many product reviews versus posts about my life. Thats why they were there to read about my life.
I admit that I did not start my site to get free products or get invited to events, it just evolved organically that I began getting invited to do these things.I admit that the events/products review did seem to be taking up more of my posts… Continue

Well the Biggest Loser is.....Helen! It's great that an older woman won because she is a good example that it's never too late to start taking care of yourself. I felt really bad for Tara though. She was only 5 or 6 pounds from beating Helen. She looked so defeated. I cannot believe they dragged that shit out for 3 hours though. I had no idea it was going to be that long! I had to switch over to the Real Housewives at 10pm and switch back during commercials to see who won. It's called… Continue

Oh yes. It's Tuesday and that means it's time to discuss all the mindless TV I have been watching and how many brain cells I have lost.
First off, The Hills last night. Why am I still watching this? It's scripted, it's stupid. Made up drama, bad acting from people that are not actors. Boring. Next.
Season premiere of Intervention last night on A&E. Great show. but I don't recommend watching it before you go to bed. Makes your head spin. Definitely a show to… Continue

I moved to Aspen and got a job working at Photographer’s Aspen, a small photographer’s cooperative for leading editorial assignment shooters. I helped to market their images for stock. Snuggled in the midst of an Aspen Grove, our old ranch style building also housed the Tenth Mountain Hut Division offices. I had radically changed my life from living in the chaos of New York City to living in one of the healthiest towns in America. I rode my bike to work and religiously hiked up the Ute Trail,… Continue
