Things I've Learned This Week

** If I held my breath for a big Valentine's Day surprise, I'd surely end up dead.

** A pre-shower naked dance is evidently becoming a nightly ritual around here.…

Women Olympians Medal as Role Models

Ever since Title IX guaranteed equal funding for girls' sports programs 40 years ago, we've seen the results in school, the workplace and women's self-confidence. The Olympic Mom in All of Us

What is it, like a bazillion people who are watching the Olympics?  It’s so exciting, how can you not?  I mean, who wasn’t watching Gymnastics to follow Gabrielle Douglas to GOLD! And splashing along with Michael Phelps to his amazing medal record – what is it, 19, 20 now?

Things I've Learned This Week

** Summer really needs a speeding ticket.

** Inspirational quotes do nothing but piss me off when I'm in a crabby mood.

** The Olympics have evidently convinced my kids that there's a vault in our second floor hallway.  (And I assure you there is not.)

** I'm the only one here that seems to know that the floor is not a trash can.

** Shrinky Dinks may be the dumbest art project ever invented.

** I really don't need to know WHY there's a streak of poo on the side of the toilet.

** "Make Your Own Pizza Night" is really just my way of saying, "Fix Your Own Damn…

Summer Sanders: Busy Mom and Member of Team Kellogg's

Most people probably don’t know that the United States is one of the only countries in the world that does not fund its Olympic team save its Paralympic team. I didn’t realize that either until I interviewed swimming legend Summer Sanders this week. Sanders, who won an impressive four medals in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games…

For some women the pregnant nose goes into smell overdrive with incredible detection ability, in fact increased smell sensitivity can save lives. Just ask your local gas company – pregnant…

Black Friday – it’s Not Just About Fashion

Fashion, eh? It comes and goes, then comes back around again, at once fleeting and eternal. A style is in one month and then is never heard of again – until it is heard of again, of course.

The quest for fashionable clothes never ends; it’s just that what is in vogue is always changing.…
