Let your faith be bigger than your fear

With the events of the past few days it is easy for us to become paralyzed with fear.  For many it brings back memories of September 11, 2001 and the horror our country faced that unforgettable day.  As my husband and I sat and watched the news on Friday evening it brought back so many fears and questions.

As a parent, I wondered how to tell my children or…

Travelogue- Day 6 from London to Paris

e woke up early to head out to catch the train into Paris.  We were taking the Eurostar and we weren’t sure what to expect.

It was actually an incredibly easy process.  We hopped on the metro near the apartment and then ended up at the St. Pancras Train Station.  It is a gorgeous spacious station with tons of shops and cafes inside.  We were excited because we were able to meet up…

Profile: Romantic Suspense Author Chris Karslen

A native of Chicago, former police detective Chris Karslen grew up with a love of history and books. An only child, she spent a lot of time reading, developing ‘fictional friends’, and getting lost in the world of stories.

Naturally, her love of reading and books led to writing of her own, and when she retired from her police work she finally decided to fulfil her lifelong secret desire. In 2003, she sat down and wrote her first line—and she hasn’t looked back since.…

Fight or Flight...to Paris!

Fight or Flight...to Paris!

I sat at the airport, fighting to gulp down the firmest (and most expensive) "pretzel bites" I had ever encountered.  I had spent the whole week vacillating between frantic worrying and manic excitement, and I was aware that I was eating way too fast.  I couldn't help myself...I was…

Flashing - French Style

I’ve discovered there’s more than one way to be the most popular mom at the school fair.

Some mamans slave over homemade madeleines, some donate bottles of Château Margaux wine to the raffle, and then there’s my tactic.

Flash the dads.

OK, so it wasn’t a part of the original plan. Last Friday was our first-ever school fair – and I was feeling the pressure. I knew I’d see Arabelle, the snooty Alpha-Maman who somehow managed four small children, ran the PTA… Continue
