Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist - Who Am I???

Here's just one more reason why Robert Downy Jr. stands strong at the top of my "list." <3

Microsoft's social media campaign, The Collective Project, celebrates students using technology to change the world. How better than to give young children use of their limbs back using 3D print technology? That's exactly what Limitless Technology does. The volunteer group started by a University of Central Florida engineering PhD student recently constructed a special "Iron Man" arm for a…

Project Upcycle: Making Something New Out of Something Old

To the untrained eye old milk cartons, keyboards and T-shirts appear to be identical to other items you might find in your everyday trash. But did you know that beautiful and amazing things could be made from the stuff you throw away? It’s called Upcycling.

Upcycling is the process of converting…

Middle school stress solution: Tae kwon do

My daughter was incredibly excited about graduating from elementary school. A budding artist, she even drew a portrait of herself and her friends with the words "We're middle schoolers now!" above it in bold print. But the beginning of the year was a disaster.

The bus route confused her. The school pace was intimidating. And then, in gym, she hesitated before passing a sheet of paper to her partner. "Give it to me, you retard," the girl said. My daughter looked back to see…

The Case Against the Flawed (almost) SAHM - SAHM Project - Entry Seven

Self-evaluation is never easy. No one likes to admit when, or how many

times, they are wrong. This is especially true for me. But,

self-evaluation is necessary for any real, beneficial changes to occur

in ones behaviors.

And it seems on days that I am most adament about avoiding the

blemishes on my character, my husband turns into a gigantic, gaudy

mirror, waiting with baited breath to point out that I'm not as sweet

as I claim to be.

Last… Continue

Tap Project's Good Deed

Growing up, I always made the assumption that (clean, drinkable) water would always be available. My wasteful habits are astonishing to look back upon: running water while brushing teeth; not turning the hose off while washing the car; and running the kitchen sink while washing dishes. The millions of gallons of water my family and I wasted make me cringe with disgust. This careless water behavior of mine has come to a screeching halt. The news about our dwindling water supply and countries… Continue

Black Friday – it’s Not Just About Fashion

Fashion, eh? It comes and goes, then comes back around again, at once fleeting and eternal. A style is in one month and then is never heard of again – until it is heard of again, of course.

The quest for fashionable clothes never ends; it’s just that what is in vogue is always changing.…
