Camping isn't on our list of trips for this year (maybe next year), but I still wanted to introduce my kids to one of the great camping experiences ever... S'mores! There's just something about the ooey, gooey, stickiness of the marshmallows and the sweet, smooth chocolate that is enough for me to deem camping as one adventure that everyone must try... at least once in their life. (Of course, there is the beauty of nature and all the creatures you may not normally see, but I'm speaking…Continue

A few months ago, I created a last-minute meal I now call "chicken patty melts". What is interesting about this meal is, I created it out of boredom, and laziness. I had taken chicken breasts out of the freezer earlier that day to let them thaw out. My original plan was to make a chicken stir fry, but once I thought about all of the prep work, it mentally exhausted me. (I wish I were being dramatic). It just so happened I had a craving for a melt of some sort. So I decided to wing…Continue

My crockpot has become a dear friend over the past 6 years... Pretty much when I started having kids. Its so easy to throw all your ingredients in, cover, and the let magic happen. Whether you work outside the home or from inside the home, there's nothing better than to smell the wonderful aroma of your dinner cooking and to know that all you have to do is grab a plate and fork. Sigh. There are a plethora…Continue

So anyone who knows me, knows I am all about the most bang for my buck. I don't mind spending $$$ on good food, however, it has to be good. Chain restaurants often disappoint me, as they will successfully ruin even the simplest of entrees. Outback found a way to pulverize my Alice Spring Chicken, to a dry summer remnant of what it was supposed to be. It was so bad, I had to re-create the dish. So here it is>>
