On Being Kind

Kindness

This “Mommy Wars” thing is a real. This term was first coined to describe the “us versus them” attitude of Stay at Home Moms and Career Moms; but really, it has become so much more. I feel like nowadays, everyone has an opinion about how you’re raising your child, and how you can do it better. And now that we’re all online, posting on Mom…

Cleaning Out the Closet

This weekend, I finally tackled something that I've been needing to do for a long time - I finally cleaned out my closet.

I've had some half hearted attempts in the past year, where I pack away some things that are out of date or torn, but I never truly sat down and thought about what I actually use. My closet was still filled with tiny clubbing dresses (ermigad, the shame), old corporate clothes (that I have not worn in over a decade) and things that were not age appropriate…

BFF

It's been more than four years since I have become a stay-at-home-mom, or SAHM, for short. The perks are aplenty but the downside to it is that your life literally revolves around your children's schedule, especially if you have little support from elsewhere.

Some friends are envious of my SAHM status, they say,…

5 Things Stay at Home Moms Do Not Sign On For

About 3 months ago I became a stay at home mom again. I've been one before. Heck, I've been everything before- a working mom, a single mom, a single working mom, a stay at home mom, a work from home mom, a mom who took her kids to work with her; I'm pretty sure I've been in almost every angle of the stay at home mom vs. working mom debate, and even created a new angle or two from which to view it.

Bottom line: I love being a stay at home mom. I do "work" during the day while…

Becoming Full Time Housewife/Mother: The Transition

A couple months ago, I have finally started living the role that I thought would not be playing so soon – a full time staying-at-home-wife (and soon-to-be Mom, for the time being). I knew that this phase will eventually happen to me but I thought it would come much later.

Another life transition for me.
A little story about my dream

When I was younger, I have never envisaged the likelihood of assuming housewife title in my adult…

Happy Heart

It's been almost a year and a half since I became a stay at home mom.  We've had to sacrifice a few things for us to be able to afford living on one income.  In my opinion, it has all been worth it.  Today for example, was one of those days.  Continue

Temporary stay at home mom, and that's ok with me.

Two kids, two stints as a temporary stay at home mom….otherwise known as maternity leave.  My second “vacation” as many ignorant people around me prefer to call my time off is coming to a close.  Back to being a slave to the man next week.  I have mixed emotions.  I love my children.  I have…

Steps to a one income family...

Okay…I don’t claim to be Suze Orman but it seems as though I had some interest in my Jan. 31st post about the decision to become a SAHM, hence one-income family. I thought it might be helpful for me to write about some of the steps we took to make this dream a reality.…

Juggling Life

Juggling my roles as a Mother, wife, woman, housecleaner and cook is sometimes overwhelming. On some days it’s an accomplishment if I’m dressed before noon and the kids have been fed. Those days are the days where I can’t seem to get the baby to sleep long enough to manage getting clothes on, breakfast made,…

Tatted Mom's List of 10 Best Gifts for a Stay at Home Mom

I've read so many 'Top Gifts for Moms' articles it's not funny. Yahoo has them featured, Google, Amazon has their version, and that doesn't even begin to cover the blog articles out there covering what people should get their moms for Christmas. While I agreed with parts of many of the articles, there wasn't one I found that not… Continue

Hoping My Hard Work Pays Off

So sometimes being a primarily 1 income family is rough. It really is. I do make an income from watching children. I adore these kids. They are so fun to be with. I have been the care taker for one boy since he was 12 weeks old and he's almost the same age as my son who is 18 months old. You get attached to their little faces and their little antics.
