Frump Mama Vs Glam

"Kailie, stay with me."

"Cole, don't touch that, we keep our hands to ourselves."

"Victoria Grace! You must hold Mommy's hand," I say in a matter of 5 seconds flat as I attempt to navigate the department store in the mall with my daycare kids and my daughter while… Continue

Tatted Mom's List of 10 Best Gifts for a Stay at Home Mom

I've read so many 'Top Gifts for Moms' articles it's not funny. Yahoo has them featured, Google, Amazon has their version, and that doesn't even begin to cover the blog articles out there covering what people should get their moms for Christmas. While I agreed with parts of many of the articles, there wasn't one I found that not… Continue

Hoping My Hard Work Pays Off

So sometimes being a primarily 1 income family is rough. It really is. I do make an income from watching children. I adore these kids. They are so fun to be with. I have been the care taker for one boy since he was 12 weeks old and he's almost the same age as my son who is 18 months old. You get attached to their little faces and their little antics. Which Comes First, Baby or Career?

I am an anomaly: I married right out of high school and started having children at a young age. While most of my classmates are only now starting their families ten year later, my third baby is starting kindergarten in the fall and baby four is almost ready for preschool. I am not, however, one of those barefoot and pregnant women. I am part of a new, yet growing, segment of the population that is having children first and then growing a career after their family is…

Poison Ivy Gratitude

On Mother’s Day, Owen ran a fever of 101.8 so I kept him out of

school on Monday. He recovered quickly, only to learn the age-old,

hard-knock lesson discovered by countless generations of six-year-old

boys before him: Poison ivy is friend to no grade schooler.

Endlessly red, puffy and itchy, he stayed home with me again on Friday.

Like many moms, when my child hurts, my maternal instincts heighten and unfailingly force me into slight panic mode.…

The Case Against the Flawed (almost) SAHM - SAHM Project - Entry Seven

Self-evaluation is never easy. No one likes to admit when, or how many

times, they are wrong. This is especially true for me. But,

self-evaluation is necessary for any real, beneficial changes to occur

in ones behaviors.

And it seems on days that I am most adament about avoiding the

blemishes on my character, my husband turns into a gigantic, gaudy

mirror, waiting with baited breath to point out that I'm not as sweet

as I claim to be.

Last… Continue

Rebel With(out) a Cause?

I am so not perfect. Um...just in case any of you thought otherwise.

You see, I have this rebelliousness issue. Ask my mom. Ask my best friends. Especially ask my husband.

It's mostly that I tend to rebel against the status quo. I can't stand "typical," and I strive to be anything but. I just always have. And I think it would take years of deep (costly) therapy to find the underlying reasons why.

I also hate being told how to be, what to do, and how things… Continue

Just so you know, this blog is a clean blog about sex, so if you're here to find any Mommy nuddies - see yah.

Seriously though, us Moms have one thing in common - other than the fact that once a baby pops out of your womb your sex life will never be the same again, we all have to juggle a million different… Continue
