Single (temporary) momhood crazyness.

As I sit here at a library computer typing I am thinking about how crazy the last three weeks have been while my husband has visited family in China .   I am also very grateful he will be home soon and I will no longer be single handedly taking care of our three childrens.   The day after Christmas my husband left to visit his family.  Since then I have been trying like crazy to keep up with our three very active children.   F is 8 yrs old and a loving  sensitive boy.   F is also very…

I Am NOT The Perfect Mom!

Contrary to popular belief, I am NOT the perfect mom.  Far from it, if truth be told.  I do not pretend to do everything right, because I don't.  I didn't get the memo or read the book with the instructions of what a "perfect mom's does."  I march to the beat of my own drum, take things a day at a time, make up things as I go and occasionally mess up.

Since I have been off work, I cook dinner more than I have in the last 6 years.  When I was working 50+ hours a…

My Son...The Reader

I have always been a reader.  I can not remember a time that I didn't love books and magazines.  When I was little, my grandmother always subscribed to magazines like Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Ebony and Jet.  I spent countless hours flipping through those magazines as a child.  My grandmother got a kick out of me sitting in her living room reading the Los Angeles Times newspaper when I was about 9 years old.  When I was totally engrossed in a book and it was time for bed, I…

Did You Just Have to Ask Him 'Are We Exclusive?!'

When did deciding if you were Exclusive become a heavy task? Are you guilty of asking questions like:

‘Are we a couple now?’ ‘Are we done seeing other people?’ ‘Are we exclusive?’

Questions like those are really unnecessary to pose when it comes down to it.

Mature people do not need coaching or to…

Dear Donor

Dear Donor,

This letter has been 3 years in the making and many times written and erased. It brings me to tears when I think of all I want to say to you and all I would ask if I meet you. It also puts the realization into the fore front that my children, these three beautiful creatures are not just part of me, but part of an unknown! Everyday I look at them and watch them grow I can clearly see me in them, but the other parts, the ones that are so obviously not me, I can only assume…

One Day at a Time

Lately, I have two types of days. A good day, and a miserable day. Today was a good day. I took a leave of absence from work to deal with what's going on in my life. Good for me and my kids, terrible for my wallet. But my routine became to wake up, take kids to school, come back home, crawl into bed and just lay there. Sometimes I would sleep away the day, escaping the misery I was feeling, other days I would just lay there…

Before the number changes

The Mom Blog 's Response:

In his blog posting today, time was the main reference. He referred to time being a 'yesterday', a 'now',

and a 'tomorrow', and that time is a really just a number and we should not let it be a main focus of our lives, especially when it…

In Response to "Worthless Women and the Men Who Make Them" by Single Dad Laughing ~ Mom Blog ~

Click here to read Single Dad Laughing's blog posting: Worthless Women and the Men Who Make Them

My Response:

I am sorry for the world depicted in the blog... one where women are not appreciated and honored. A world where women are not seen as equal and women feel it necessary to have self hatred as a direct result of the men in their lives.

Fortunately, that… Continue

In Response to Single Dad Laughing's Post on Bullying ~Mom Blog~

Blog Title from Single Dad Laughing: Click to read the article, Are we all talk, or are we going to fix this?

You also need to understand that A LOT is being done in order to speak out against bullying. I have been an elementary educator for nearly 20 years. The majority of my years have been in third-fourth grades, the years when you will actually see some 'teasing' start to take place. Of… Continue

Need Advice - Content Balance on Your Site - Your life vs Product Reviews/Giveaways

Recently, I posted a product review and received several posts from my readers that they were either leaving or not happy that I was posting so many product reviews versus posts about my life. Thats why they were there to read about my life.

I admit that I did not start my site to get free products or get invited to events, it just evolved organically that I began getting invited to do these things.I admit that the events/products review did seem to be taking up more of my posts… Continue

Single Mom Bloggers?

I am a Single Mom Blogger (http://nycmamasan.blogspot.com) and I think it would be great if there were other Single Mom Bloggers who wanted to get together to create our own little support group. We could all follow each other to build our Following, offer support to each other in ways only single moms might be able to offer, and just have a place that we could call home here at Mom Bloggers Club.
