The True Meaning of Christmas

As a kid, it's hard to see the big, wide world outside your own tiny bubble of existence.  (Heck, it's not easy even as an adult sometimes!)  That's why I've made it my mission to try to teach my kids to help out people in need.  And one of my favorite holiday traditions for our family is to help fulfill the Christmas wish list of a child in need.

For the past…

Things I've Learned This Week

** A successful night is when the Tooth Fairy remembers to do her duty AND even has change for a twenty!  Holla!

** Nine year olds evidently need to be reminded not to stick jelly beans up their noses.

** It's amazing how a closed bathroom door means nothing to my kids until they're the ones behind it.

Mama needs her straight-jacket straps tightened

Friday afternoon, I took care of some long over due errands. Along with me were my three girls, plus one of Lexi’s friends. Mothers out there with three plus kids, I can’t decide whether I should admire you or send in the US Army Reserves to aid you between nap-times.…

Great Customer Service and My Almost Lost Garden Gnome

Today, my coupon book and I took a "mommy only" trip to Target. I was there for over an hour wandering the aisles looking for bargains. Is it sad that I really enjoyed it? (I ended up spending $102 and saved $26 thanks to my coupons!) That's a story for another day, though. Today's tale is about Target saving me from a big mistake!

I finally…

Target

When we got married and decided, since we found out the week before the wedding that we were pregnant, children would be in our - very - near future, we had visions of what it would be like. A peaceful day with flowers in our hair and butterflies swirling around our family's heads as we shopped hand in hand, our baby laughing in her pressed, white dress and sunhat, waving at the stressed out Mother's with screaming children in the store thinking "That will never be our child!"
