Well it is that time a year when school comes to a close and we enter Summer Break! I don’t know about you but the last few weeks of school seem to both breeze by and linger on at the same time. What do I mean well, it is hard to believe my kids only have two more weeks of school left, our school year…

Being a single mother can be quite difficult. You have to juggle being there for your kids and excelling in other areas of your life, such as your career. You also have to constantly worry whether your kids are developing in the right way and whether they have emotional stability.
Vacation time is the best time to get away from work and connect with your kids. But even vacations present their own challenges for single moms. On the one hand, you have had a difficult couple of months… Continue

Last Christmas we met in my brother's house in South Carolina and we decided to drive!
It's a 15 hr drive from MA to SC; but a road trip doesn't have to be boring... we scheduled fun activities on our way there, which made it a very enjoyable and memorable trip.
We didn't tell… Continue

We recently went on a family vacation to Jamaica and it gave me time to reflect on the importance of family vacations, whether they are simple or extravagant. Stepping away from real-life stressors for a while can be critical to appreciating the joys of family. The kids fought less because they were excited and distracted. We… Continue

Suppose you have 20 things to do during the course of a day. Further, suppose that nineteen of those things go well. The question is, which of the 20 things do most of us tend to focus on when we get home at night? Which do… Continue

So our last day of this wonderful San Diego trip we had discussed either going to Lego Land's Water Park, or heading back to Sea World. At the beginning of the week, I was excited about the water park idea. I wanted to be able to enjoy the nice cool water or sit and sun myself a bit. But when I got sunburned at Sea World, the idea of possibly getting burned again didn't appeal to me…

I had this post partially written without the pictures uploaded, when I hit a button, and it all went away, then blogger decided right at that time to auto save, so it saved a blank page. I was sooo upset! I need to learn to write my posts in word or something then transfer it to my blog because this seems to happen all to much with a toddler trying to always sit on my lap as I'm…

I was going to blog about our trip to the San Diego Zoo, but I forgot that we had a day in between. We needed a low key day, especially with a toddler where we weren't running from exhibit to exhibit or ride to ride. So we spend day four touring the USS Midway and spent the last half of the day at the beach. I am amazed at the Seamen who…

So last Sunday around 10am, Hunky Hubs, J myster and I headed out on the open road for our much needed vacation. Destination San Diego! Hunky Hubs thought about a month back that we should do something really nice, fun and relaxing for ourselves before the baby came because we really didn't know… Continue

If you had no idea I was on vacation this week, then I did a good job at scheduling my blog posts, tweets and facebook updates. Truth be told, me, my adorable son and amazing husband spent a lovely week in San Diego living it up before our second edition to the family comes in November/December. We had a blast and I took over 800 pics. We got so much… Continue

Dear readers, I'm back! I've just returned from a fantastic vacation to California to visit my family. It was quite the adventure getting there because it was D2's first plane ride. To say I was nervous about travelling across the country on my own with a toddler is an understatement. At almost 20 months, D2 is very active and loathes sitting in his car seat for more than a… Continue

So yeah, life. Boy, it can feel like a caffeine-free, Monday morning sometimes, and then other times it can fill up your heart and inspire you to bake pie or open a fun-size candy bar wrapper. Have I mentioned, I’ve officially added fun-size candy bars as a fifth food group since week? Just writing that made me hungry for a Twix bar. You don’t mind if I chew while you’re reading this, do you?… Continue

7 Signs that You Might Need a Break from Your Kids

2) You start calling your husband Juan and asking that he wear Speedos.
3) You mix the kids milk in a blender and serve it with a cute umbrella decoration.
4) You lay out your daughters Princess towel in the bathroom, lay down on it, and wiggle around trying to get the best heat from the vanity light…

As parents, we know it's not always easy to find fun activities for your kids, especially when they are between the ages of birth and 5 years old. Here are the places at Lake Tahoe in the Winter that our kids and their friends liked best during these years:
"Big Kids" aren't allowed in the special padded play area just for infants. Toddlers will love… Continue
