When my husband asked me to go on a cruise before our daughter arrived I was all in. We needed some relaxing time and a baby moon was the perfect way to get it. I understood and liked the idea of a baby moon, but I was not sure how I felt about being pregnant, with morning sickness, feeling huge, waddling like a duck, sun burning faster than ever, and just plain being uncomfortable on a ship. Turns out, it was fine and I enjoyed myself immensely. (Cruising has it perks for pregnant women.…Continue

You did it, you have decided to take a cruise vacation. The cruise line is selected, and you know where you will be sailing to and from where. Excitement is running through your veins and your heart is pumping and you ask yourself, "What's next? What stateroom should we pick?". Do you go all out and get a suite or because of funds do you settle for an inside stateroom? While the actual room type matters it also matters where on the ship your room is located. Here are my thoughts on what you…Continue

Cruising is my favorite way to vacation. I love watching my phone signal slowly fade as we sail away until there are no bars or service. My husband and I have been on 3 cruises, and will be going on our 4th this year. Other reasons I love cruising is because it is cost-effective and family friendly. Where else would you be able to get an almost all-inclusive 2 week vacation for 2 adults and 2 kids for $2,500.00 or under? On a cruise you get lodging, meals, entertainment, and adventure…Continue

Hi! This is a repost originally posted in January of 2015 of just some of our memories of our Orlando, Florida vacation...
When I mentioned to a few people that we were going to Orlando, Florida, the general response was, “Disney?” Although there are so many other attractions in Orlando, WDW is the main iconic attraction. The main attractions, not counting the Hotel Resorts and the Waterparks, are four theme parks: Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Epcot.…Continue

It won’t be long before the T’s and I make our annual Fourth of July trip to Ford City, Pennsylvania. I absolutely love the Fourth of July; the parade, the fireworks and particularly my grandmother’s homemade ice cream! I have got to master that recipe, but that’s beside the point.
There are so…Continue
Being a single mother can be quite difficult. You have to juggle being there for your kids and excelling in other areas of your life, such as your career. You also have to constantly worry whether your kids are developing in the right way and whether they have emotional stability.
Vacation time is the best time to get away from work and connect with your kids. But even vacations present their own challenges for single moms. On the one hand, you have had a difficult couple of months…Continue

Last Christmas we met in my brother's house in South Carolina and we decided to drive!
It's a 15 hr drive from MA to SC; but a road trip doesn't have to be boring... we scheduled fun activities on our way there, which made it a very enjoyable and memorable trip.
We didn't tell…Continue

We recently went on a family vacation to Jamaica and it gave me time to reflect on the importance of family vacations, whether they are simple or extravagant. Stepping away from real-life stressors for a while can be critical to appreciating the joys of family. The kids fought less because they were excited and distracted. We…Continue

Suppose you have 20 things to do during the course of a day. Further, suppose that nineteen of those things go well. The question is, which of the 20 things do most of us tend to focus on when we get home at night? Which do…Continue

Dear readers, I'm back! I've just returned from a fantastic vacation to California to visit my family. It was quite the adventure getting there because it was D2's first plane ride. To say I was nervous about travelling across the country on my own with a toddler is an understatement. At almost 20 months, D2 is very active and loathes sitting in his car seat for more than a…Continue
