33 Weeks Pregnancy Vlog | Pregnant Sister, Epidurals, Second Baby | MomCave TV

t’s a cliché for a reason–life happens when you are busy making plans. I filmed this 33 weeks pregnancy vlog in a state of blissful ignorance, one day before my pre-term labor adventure began

In the video, I talk about how I’m enjoying pregnancy but have so much to do that I wouldn’t mind if this baby stayed in a couple of months past the due date. Boy, was I mistaken!

The next morning, I was rushed to…

A Collage for Daddy

lly and I wanted to do something special for Daddy, just to show him how much we love him. We sat down to brainstorm a couple ideas of what to do and finally settled on making a collage for Daddy. The collage would contain things that he really enjoys and something that describes him. Although our Daddy is one who likes to wrestle and roll around on the floor, he also really enjoys dressing up and looking nice!

Check out our finished picture and see how you can make one…

Signs your SO is finally ready to have a baby with you

So, you have finally started to notice kids around, copy baby talk and secretly decide which names you like more than others. All good and fine, but what about your husband/boyfriend? “Forgetting” to take a pill or making a hole in a condom is a strategy worth a 15 year old fool, but not a mature woman. Yet, you do have to find out what he thinks about it and build up your…

Dear Moms

Dear Moms,

You may be reading this on your phone in the bathroom, taking your 3 minutes of “alone” time to catch up on the world around you. You may be sneaking a peek at the park or at a red light, taking a chance to feel connected to another adult in some small…

The Empty Crib Syndrome

I have really been in a funk lately. My mind has been a whirlwind of emotions & thoughts. Ever since my youngest, my baby, turned 4years old I have been giving myself a hard time. I feel this pressure, entirely from myself, but pressure no less, to work.  Not that I don’t work now, in fact I feel like this is the hardest I have ever worked in my life!  My husband and I are a bit old school. He works outside the home.  I do all the household chores, all things clothes and food…

Amazing way I spent my B-day Giving Back

Click on the link below to see how I spent my b-day!kindness

What I absolutely adore most about this experience is how many people said they were going to pay it forward. And the fact that when I logged onto Facebook that night a friend had said that someone paid for her coffee and she…

Being broke can be a blessing.

I used to make a lot of money, though  I didn't realize it at the time. That 20/20 hindsight can really burn some days.   I was doing really well for myself and for my family financially, but  I wasn't happy. I wasn't in love with my job anymore, and I tried to compensate by spending the money I was making. Writing at Starbucks, yoga, the gym, spas, masks, and spoiling my family.  When we found out we were expecting another little one, I decided I needed to make a change. I know…

"Food tastes better in the Dining Room"

My son's birthday just passed. Since it's the beginning of the week and we'll be celebrating on the weekend, we knew we still had to do something ON his birthday so I baked a cake and cooked dinner. We always eat food at the same time, which is whatever time I finish cooking, but we eat in different rooms. My kids eat in the kitchen, I usually eat in my room while watching one of my favorite shows and my husband likes to eat in…

Starting an Avocado Tree

A few weeks ago I posted photos on my instagram page showing how beautifully my mother in law's fruits plants have grown. She has a papaya tree, avocado tree, banana tree, mango tree and more grown. There are a few others in their beginning stages. It only took about 5 years for some of her plants to start bearing fruit and I was thinking I should've started growing plants as soon as we bought our house. By now I would have…

Power of the Pen!

Some people would say that the cost of silence is free. Those people are not mothers. There is always a cost. Like when your toddler is having a full on tantrum during the 2nd hour of a 14 hour trip so you give him the remaining ½ of a chocolate bar knowing full well that it will leave the worst mess on him, the car seat, the car, etc. but your sanity and that of your husbands is well worth the mess.  Or maybe you plopped junior in front of the TV…

What Kind of Mother are YOU?

There are many different kinds of mothers.  Ones that are fun and silly, some that are strict and rigid, those that are selfless and compassionate, others that are perfectionists and sticklers, and moms who are in the process of learning what defines their style of motherhood.  For me, I fall into all of these categories, depending on the…

The Tacky Box Can Help Parents Take Charge of A Potty Mouth or Stop Kids Saying Hurtful Things

Have you ever slipped and said a tacky word in front of your child?  I know that I am guilty of this of accidentally saying something I will regret later or said something that wasn't appropriate for my children to hear.  I have always tried to be aware and watch what I say and do in front of them.  I want to make sure that my kids aren't picking up bad habits.  Believe it or…

5 Ways Be a Better Parent If You Are Suffering with Chronic Pain

Mom Explaining to Chronic Pain to Her Children Last fall we decided to take my youngest son out of daycare so that he could stay at home with me during the day.  At first I was nervous because I wasn’t sure how I was going to care for him during the day.  I am thankful that he has started learning how to play independently and can entertain himself for a few minutes.  During those first several weeks, I was so excited and wanted to continue teaching him the things that he was currently learning in daycare.  Things changed…
