Death is a distant rumor to the young. Andrew A. Rooney
Death is a weird topic to blog about, I know. But here goes. So…Friday I attended the mock funeral of my oldest child. Why in the hell would I do that, you ask? My son participated in a program called shattered dreams through his school. The program is an excellent way to send a message to teens about the effects of drinking and driving. The…
So, I can read, big deal right. It was pointed out to me recently that with the death of J.D. Salinger all my favorite authors are dead. Just in case you wanted to know the others include Douglas Adams and a bunch of long gone philosophers. I don’t make nearly enough time for my own reading pleasure anymore and no where has that been more…
It snowed here big-time two days ago and we had so much fun playing outside! I had just bought L a small shovel at the mall as a treat after his dentist appointment (we made it through another difficult one) because I know how much he loves helping Daddy shovel the driveway.
And I got to make a snowman for the first time in about 25 years! Two years ago I bought this cute snowman kit at a sale at a local school. The kids had made many of these…
When was the last time you took a day off with your child or children? I took mine today.
I don’t have classes on Thursdays, but Clever Preschooler does.
Although I still am a Stay at Home Mom on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I’ve
been feeling like we never spend the day (just the two of us) together
anymore.
So, I kept him home from Preschool. (I know it sets a bad precedence,
but at 3 and a half does he honestly need to be going to… Continue

As we eagerly anticipate the arrival of our baby boy in 4 weeks, today at work there was an interesting surprise. One of the people in the building had been planning on having a baby girl and today when the baby was delivered they heard the words that I'm not exactly sure how I would react to, "It's a boy! SURPRISE!" All these months of… Continue

One of the most phenomenal stories regarding babies that I ever heard was reported on CNN in May 2005 and in the May 30, 2005 edition of Jet Magazine.
“A newborn baby abandoned in a Kenyan forest was saved by a stray dog who apparently carried her across a busy road and through a barbed wire fence to a shed where the infant was discovered nestled with a litter of puppies.” CBS News covered this story as well.

These websites may include a wide range of components including text, images, audio, video and blogs. Here system users can voice their opinions, provided updates on their life, offer insight into current events or… Continue

As you may or may not have heard, EPN (eBay's affiliate program) has recently changed the way they pay their affiliates and most people I know have not been too happy about the changes. Although some affiliates are making more money on this new payout the vast majority are not. Not only that, people are concerned that they can't seem to pinpoint exactly how we're paid so that's a bit of a concern.
My earnings from September were $528.06 and my earnings for… Continue

Are you an entrepreneur, artist, blogger, musician, or writer who wants to make a decent living? You can! I already blogged about how I heard David Mathison speak about using social media to market what you are passionate about and to use social media to your advantage. His book, Be The Media, goes into much detail about how you only need 1000 true fans to make a decent living. That seems entirely doable!
Be The Media is one of those book you want all of your family and… Continue

Do you have a desire to make your home an inviting haven to your family and all who enter it? I know that I do, but in the busyness of life, I sometimes forget to do just that. I have learned that it won’t just happen, I have to make it happen! The only way I have found to make it happen is by setting a goal for it.
Won’t it be fun to to challenge, encourage, and inspire one another by sharing what we are doing to create a peaceful… Continue

I am wondering how many parents are like me in their inability to keep up to date on political issues. It is frustrating to say the least, to not have the time to listen to the news or to read the newspapers and whenever I do get the chance to get better informed I usually wind up either in tears and angry from reality or completely confused.
Listening to educated people is my alternative and I try to listen to all sides so that I can make my own opinions. One of the most important… Continue
