I have both a son and a daughter (Lucky me. One of each and I was done!). Needless to say that my daughter has always been – way – more fun to shop for than my son. Boys’ clothing is so predictable and… boring. My son has always enjoyed “clowning around” with his personal style. In his early teen years he was trying hard to discover and differentiate his own fashion style from the same-same sea of cargo shorts, board shoes and logo’d tees. Whether it was to wear a neon pink striped beanie,…Continue

My husband does not, will not and down right hates to shop. I have spent many wasted hours shopping for him, having to return most of what I had bought. I kept telling myself that, from now on, I would not buy him clothes anymore, but it did not make sense. After all, I was at the store anyway, for either myself or one of our children, I might as well look for him also. Since he would never do it on his own… He’d still wear his early 90′s garb if it was just up to him.

I recently wrote an article about the in-fashion of cuffs for women. Let’s not leave the men out. No matter what their age this one single piece shows that he has style and is not afraid to show it. They are perfect for both the young and, shall we say, seasoned, men in your life. With both Father’s Day and graduations just around the corner, these may just…Continue

Now that Mother’s Day has come and gone, our internal holiday timers know to prep for Father’s Day next month. As studies have shown, men are the hardest people to buy for, but have no fear because The Succulent Wives are here to help. We will be featuring lots of great ideas to help make Father’s Day just as special as they made your Mother’s Day (not that we are competing, but let’s face it, we know how to make that day special!)…Continue

How do you thank a mother for all that she does for you throughout the year? Whether your children make something at school for you (which mine do) or spend time with you (which I am thankful my teenage son does, at least one day a year), these gift ideas would show any mother just how much they are loved and appreciated.…

Have you been hearing a lot about feather hair accessories lately? Feathers seems to be a popular trend right now. A headband with feathers or a hair clip or even a feather extension to add to your hair. Etsy has quite a few options for hair extensions on their site. I particularly like this …Continue

Feels like I haven't I haven't posted all weekend. Oh wait, I haven't. Sorry wonderful people who read my blog. I've been working on a little side project that took up most of my free time this weekend.
But today I thought I'd give you a tutorial on how to take some "product shots." You know, pictures of things like jewelry or food or anything that you want to take a photo of but you want it to have a white background and to be sitting on a white surface. Does this make sense?…

It’s March. And just guess what the weather is like here in Chicago today? It’s raining. Buckets. Frizz day. Or…
Here’s a cool idea. A stylish, rain-resistant rain scarf. Dena Perry – bless her heart, also from Chicago, invented the Pop.N.Go rain scarf. What is it? It’s a convertible rain scarf that protects your hair…

Finally, days are getting longer and, though I hate the feeling of losing an hour, Daylight Savings time (March 13) means that there will be light when working out in the wee hours of the morning. Just enough to make those early bird workouts somewhat less painful. So, if like me, you are looking forward to hitting the pavement instead of the treadmill, we thought that you would enjoy these particular finds:…

Socks: cool and wacky, classy and goofy, sweet and sharp – there is no such thing as too many socks; especially, when you deal with washer, drier and boys. Therefore, the more socks, the merrier and since this new trend of rolled-up pants and exposed bright and fancy socks is taking men’s fashion by the storm we need to pay some serious attention to this sock business. Boys Be Cool…Continue

I haven't done a crafty project in a while, and I thought, "It's about time you did one, people are getting bored over here."
So here goes... my first attempt to make my own jewelry. (Other than that one time I thought I was cool in 8th grade and made myself a button bracelet. Haha. I was lame.)
I have been lusting over this bracelet from…
