Transitioning Mom: Where is my Epidural Now?

They warn you about the pain of childbirth. They even express all the different means for managing said pain and in such depth that there are literally tons of books written on the topic! Ways to manage the pain often include Lamaze, water therapy, epidural, hypnosis, etc. I opted for hypnosis when this little lady graced us with her presence.…

10 Year Anniversary Trip... With The Kids

My husband and I celebrated 10 years of marriage! Crazy, right?!

Well, we wanted to do something special to celebrate but our youngest was only four months and I’d be breastfeeding; so we decided spend our 10 year anniversary trip... with the kids. Not overly romantic, I know, but sometimes you gotta make the best of the situation. An all inclusive Jamaican resort was our destination of choice. We’d never been there before so it would still be special and it was all inclusive, which…

A Mothers Judgement

For some time now, I have thought about writing something in support (aka protest) for Moms WHO DO IT ALL!!!(or those that think they do). It wasn't until the other day that something in the news inspired me to get this going.

Let me backtrack for a moment, when I found out I was expecting my first child in 1999, I was twenty five years old; old enough to become a mother, but still young enough to be naïve about what it took to be successful parent.

Though I totally loved my…

Fantastic Friday - Having It All, Your Way

Fantastic Friday - it is fantastic to know that you can have it all, if you define what having it all is for yourself.

Every few months there is a big uproar in mainstream media about how horrible life is because women cannot have it all. These discussions always amuse me. Typically, the article talks about how hard life is for women who cannot work 16 hours a week at an external job and work 16 hours a day at being a sexy wife and loving mother. The math just doesn't add up if this…

Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better....

Perhaps it started way back when in the prehistoric annals of domesticity, the 1950's. If one went by the media and popular accounts of daily life that were portrayed at the time, women wanted to do nothing more than to keep a beautiful home and cook a wonderful meal. The name of the game was perfection and the holy grail was a sparkling kitchen floor and a husband's shirt that was devoid of the feared "ring around the collar." Apparently women enjoyed just being able to please their husbands… Continue

BOTOX at 7 years old

What is the lesson we are teaching are young youth? Where do we draw the line? Apparently, one mother seems to think you draw the line on her own 7 year old daughters face. Is Reality Television Killing The Traditional Soap Opera?

When As The World Turns was cancelled in 2009 that caught my attention because it was noted as being the longest running soap opera on television. I didn't watch it so I wasn't losing any "connections". However, I was sad for those actors that would be losing their jobs and it's just sad the idea that the longest-running-soap-opera-on-television wasn't needed any more.

Now, with the news of One Life To Live and All My Children being cancelled I'm a bit miffed. AMC was my soap opera.… Continue

All Natural, Youthful Skin Care Routine for Under $1.00!

Back in the day, I spent my free time making all natural bath and beauty products. My research into natural ingredients, their function and what I could make with them was ongoing and extensive (still is). At the time, my husband and I lived in England, and the people there loved my creations (I even did home shows- like Pampered Chef or Mary Kay, with my products!). We moved back to the states, and maybe it was our location, but the whole all-natural thing didn't really make it there. I'm…

What Kind of Business can you run from home?

When asking yourself, "What kind of business can you run from home?" you need to realize how important it is to understand marketing to women. Once you understand this, you can run any business

from home. In the past women were stay at home figures as men made the

purchasing decisions. That is not how it is any longer! More women are

working outside the home. More women are single and more women are

making the majority of…
